Guest guest
Howdy Ane, >Welcome back, Butch! Thank you ma'am. :-p >I hope your trip to Russia was as good as mine to Istanbul! It was nice .. and I am happy to hear you were pleased with your trip. Istanbul is actually two cities .. or at one time it was .. Stam and Bul .. sorta like Buda and Pest .. but even today its two cities .. Modern Turkey and Ottoman Turkey .. and its the Ottoman portions that the tourists rightfully want to see. To say that there is much intrigue in Istanbul is an understatement. ;-) >I thank you a lot for the hints you gave; they were so very useful! It is very nice to travel in Winter, with less pack tourism. Welcome you are for sure .. and I agree that traveling to Istanbul is better in the Winter .. but you might want to consider late Spring for the next trip .. and do Izmir, Ephesus, Pamukale and the Med Coast .. I say early Spring because in Summer you will fry in those areas. ;-) >Now I can understand why the old soldier got to live in Turkey. fantastic country. A well kept secret fer'shur. Of course .. now that I am again a satisfied, responsible, hen pecked husband and a new father .. many of the reasons I had for staying here no longer exist. ;-) But I will still miss the convenience of life here. Within 100 meters of my home I can find fresh fish, fresh bread, fresh fruits and veggies, and within 6 blocks one can find anything else they would need on a daily basis .. no need to drive .. its all within walking distance. And if its raining, one can just call and have home delivery. Service is something Turkey is definitely not short on. :-P >Hubby and I are planning to go back in two years to know a bit of the Anatolian Treasures. Good it is .. folks who come to Turkey once normally come back. Chris (List Mom) came twice .. she has a number of photos posted on Istanbul ... used to have many more but somehow the Cyber Monsters go to them. http://www.av-at.com/stuff/triptoturkey.html Also check the bottom on the page when you get to this link. >Maybe then we'll meet you in Ankara. Unfortunately, its not likely as I'll be living in the USA then .. but if you come to Isparta .. to the Rose Fields .. at the end of May or early June .. likely it is you will meet me. I plan to continue to come back to Turkey each year. >Cheerfully >Ane*(from Brazil) Glad your trip was enjoyable .. and thanks for the nice note. Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com >Fácil engolir os sapos. Duro é ter que mastigar...Ane* >
