Guest guest
Hi Karen, > What exactly is a " Natural Identical " EO? There are no TRUE " Nature Identical " Essential Oils .. it is not possible to create one because of the hundreds of chemical components in a natural plant synergy .. some of the trace chemicals are so small they can't even be detected by the above average analysis systems. And .. it is (can be) one of those minor trace chemicals .. or the lack thereof, that might hold the key to the odor properities .. of even the therapeutic properties of an Essential Oil. There are oils that are manipulated .. and some that are totally synthetic that are passed off as being the real thing .. but they are not really Nature Identical Essential Oils .. they are merely the products of con artists .. crooks .. they are rip offs. Some folks might want to classify the Lavender 40/42 as a Nature Identical Essential Oil .. and though it does sorta touch the edge of what Nature Identical is all about .. its probably not a good example because the 40/42 is made in a lab by either adding or subtracting Linalool and Linalool acetate .. not by trying to combine a bunch of chemicals to create a product .. its done simply for commercial standardization .. and though the chemicals added may or may not be natural .. it matters not because 40/42 is going to be used in perfumery anyway and they are exactly what the perfume industry wants so nobody is getting taken to the cleaners. Another inaccurate definination that some might want to use if it would further their less than honorable cause .. could be .. a TOTAL lab creation of a product using a combination of natural and synthetic chemicals .. according to the known chemical profile of a particular oil .. to create that oil by means other than extraction from the plant. But this defination is fulla holes because they can't have the perfect recipe for an oil. Its sorta like trying to create the Frankinstein Monster from used body parts. The major use of " Nature Identical " recipes is to create something that can't be created through infusion or any form of distillation. Good examples of Nature Identical creations are almost ALL of the Fruit Teas we see on the grocery shelves. If you associate Nature Identical with Synthetic you will be on the right sheet of music. Wanna see what some of them look like? http://www.regencymowbray.demon.co.uk/flav_ni.htm > Is it of lesser quality than a " natural " EO? If it existed (which it doesn't) .. it would be of lesser quality. > Is it an FO? It could be .. but it would be better described as a Flavoring rather than a Fragrance Oil. > Please enlighten me, TIA, Karen in France I hope I have been able to do that. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
