Hey y'all,

 

You saw the posts from Nika and I .. here is a bit of information for

those who might be planning a vacation to Russia .. or for those just

interested in world events.

 

LONDON, England (AP) -- More than 1,000 journalists and their support

staff have died in the past decade, with Iraq and Russia topping the

list as the deadliest countries for the profession, according to a report.

I doubt if the above poisoning is other than an accident .. or perhaps

a crime perpetrated by someone close to the victims .. unless .. it is

later determined that they had an official capacity or were protesting

or were otherwise a thorn in the side of one of the power elites.

On Thursday, 1 March 07, Paul Joyal, Russia Expert, Security

Consultant, was shot by an unknown assailant in Adelphi, Maryland.

Last week, a Russian reporter (also a retired Colonel) " threw himself "

out of a 5th story window in Moscow. He had been investigating a

story on Russia selling arms .. including missiles and planes .. to

Iran and Syria. These arms were being funneled through Belarus.

My recommendation to anyone planning a vacation in Russia .. think on

it hard .. might be more enjoyable to visit Turkey. But if you do

decide to go to Russia, keep your mouth shut and enjoy the vodka and

the historical sites. ;-)
