Guest guest
Hey Lynn, >> Hydrosols are still dumped in a lot of cases. I dumped 500 kilos of >> Vitex agnus castus hydrosol not long ago as I didn't have a market >> for it .. but I won't do it this time cause I have found a market. > > Hi Butch, > Sorry to hear you had to dump the Vitex! Had I known, I'd have > bought it from you. Got myself a tree, and chew berries when I'm > having a problem...DO NOT DO THIS UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE DOING! > Great referenced site for this: > http://www.positivehealth.com/permit/Articles/Herbal/atkin23.htm The following year I brought in 100 kilos of Vitex Hydrosol .. just threw it in the shipment because I needed to exceed 1 metric ton gross in order to get a lower shipping rate. It sold out like pancakes at a church supper. As for Vitex agnus castus (Chaste or Chaste Tree) .. if you look in the list archives under Vitex of Chaste .. you'll find a few dozens of posts on it .. and many testimonials. I still sell the EO both retail and wholesale. >> Also I think the best way is to buy organic hydrosols. I still agree with the above .. but I won't carry it so far as to say Certified Organic .. I think both Martin and I and Chris and a few other folks have given the low down on why this Certified Organic is no longer a guarantee of anything .. lots of that in the archives too. > I am leary of just about anything certified as " Organic " . If it's > from a third world country, it's certified via Our folks talking > to " their folks " who assure them that everything is " OK " with their > fields. Who knows what testing has taken place. Perzackly .. and I just got through chewing butt on a Turkish company that spammed my Maryland company .. they were claiming Certified status on oils that I know are ONLY wild grown here .. they were basically, lying through their teeth! > I live in a subdivision, with a good piece of land, went organic in > my gardens 10 years ago. They continued to > deny they had done it, but their technician who had made the mistake, > came to my house and apologized. I'm not a litigious person, so just > went on a neighborhood informational foray with the MSDS sheets, and > because I'm a nurse, who noted that the chemicals could harm their > children and pets, got a significant number of neighbors to change to > an organic pesticde company. I still just use the right bugs, > nematodes, praying mantis, ladybugs, etc to manage my pests, no > chemicals! Lucky you are to be able to do that. I look forward to again being able to raise a green garden when I return to the USA .. always had one that produced more than I could use .. made neighbors happy I did. I have no problems with commercial fertilizers .. they're actually safer than the manure I used to use .. and a plant breaks down fertilizers into their basic chemical components afore it uses it .. matters not if its man made or horse or chicken made. But I won't use pesticides .. I intend to TRY stock my garden with critters as you have mentioned above. > The upshot, I use my herbs from my garden for me. I plant down at my > parents farm, and recover wild herbs from their property 150+ acres, > where none of their neighbors use pesticides, as all of them run > cattle and horses, and wouldn't think of putting anything on their > fields, safer there, and I get the ground tested. Hey Butch 15 > springs on the property, with dead leaves, bugs, etc falling into > them all the time " Spring Water " , OKEE DOKEE, is great for washing > hair and body in though! Hawhawhaw. ;-) I recall way back when my family was going through some rough times .. like danged near everybody else in our neck of the woods. We moved to an old farm house and our only source of water was a cistern that collected water as it ran off the roof. My step-father was a kunty boy but mother was a city gal and she wasn't gonna have any of that crap cause the dang water had dead critters in it from time to time. So we wound up hauling barrels of water from Merriweather Springs .. which was around 15 miles away .. and was the source of water for the local town. > I'm skeptical of most any " Organic " product unless I can check it > myself.... getting to know a vendor, and or having products quality > tested. Sometimes skepticism ain't a bad thing. Especially in this industry. > Not that I don't appreciate seeing same some places, but when WalMart > says it's organic, I just laugh! Seems like they have narrowed down the cause of the problems with the cat and dog foods .. from CNN .. > The substance in the food was identified as aminopterin, a cancer drug > that once was used to induce abortions in the United States and is still > used to kill rats in some other countries, state Agriculture Commissioner > Patrick Hooker said. And the wheat gluten was purchased from China. > thanks for all your knowledge Butch!. Can I still get the waxes, and > maybe some Rosemary Hydrosol, maybe that will help my son's German > grade! Sheesh! Welcome for sure .. I can furnish Rose and Jasmine Waxes now .. and Rosemary Essential Oil (Rosmarinus officinalis .. CT Cineole) but I am flat out of Rosemary Hydrosol .. won't be able to resupply until after the next harvest-distillation. Best thing to help your son out on his German language is to send him on a one year trip to live in Germany. ;-) > Lynn Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
