Hi Carrie & Dede

Glad this has come up just now as my old boys (28 & 30) have me worried

all the time! Jim (16'2 an 28) in particular at the moment, as this

year his coat is thick, he's lost muscle over the winter & developed a

bit of a pot belly....all the symptoms of cushings. That's why I had

the info on vitex....

Carrie, I've not heard of pre-cushiod - have you any info on it?

(Google has nothing) How much vitex do you give Dusty? I'll be getting

the Vet out this week for blood tests, so I'd like to discuss use of

vitex with him, but will need as much info as possible to convince him

of its value in these cases. Thanks for any help with this :)

Absolutely agree - All that is, except for Jim! Who once (in days

long gone when we did the show circuit) unhitched himself from the

trailer, sauntered over to the neighboring trailer and helped himself

to their neatly laid out picnic, including a large pork pie, a chunk

of meatloaf, a bag (including wrapping) of salt & vinegar crisps and

half a plate of cream & jam doughnuts !!!

And we went on to win the senior pentathlon in the afternoon....happy days!

Liz,

I just wanted to let you know that I hadn't forgot about you. I've got

company this weekend. When I get a spare moment, I'll send you all the info I

have on Cushing, insulin resistance and laminitis. For Dusty, he is insulin

resistant and shows some symptoms of having Cushings but doesn't yet show that

he actually has it by blood work. I treat him with vitex in the hopes that

maybe I can stave off the worse symptoms and to help regulate his boy hormones.

Like I said, more later!!

Sorry it took me so long to reply.
