If it is wrong then I take full credit for the misdeed. Truth is ..

neither Chris nor anyone else I am aware of even gave a minute of

thought to a conference this year .. I stuck her in the Hot Seat

without her permission cause its my personality and training to

" volunteer " folks for things they are not aware of .. and the term

" UnConference " was one I pulled out of my memory because you and

Graham had done them on two occasions before. So .. now that we know

who the dreaded culprit is .. I'll move on down and reply to the rest

of the post. ;-)

Correct .. but when one goes into the ASS - U - ME mentality .. as I

did it often makes an Ass out of U and Me .. so I will take the hit on

this one. Dang .. I wish the folks in our Gummit would stand up and

take the hits for themselves instead of sacrificing their subordinates

in that regard. ;-)

I understand where you are coming from and can't disagree with your

rationale .. so the name will NOT be UnConference .. it will be some

other name and I apoligize for overstepping my authority .. well,

actually .. I ain't got no authority no more .. so I will apoligize

for my zeal in rooking Chris and a few other folks into doing

something that I wanted them to do .. but I can't help doing so cause

its a part of my training and character. ;-)

Accepted .. at least speaking for myself .. and I am the instigator

for this. AT Summer Fling or Texas AT Whing Ding or whatever is

Welsh-American dude you be married to will make the " WhatEverTheHeck'

AT Shindig. ;-)

Speaking for me .. Finer'n Frog Hair split three ways I am. Been out

with the fellers having a Toddy or three .. and I betcha can't even

get close to guessing how many times I proofed this post in order to

make it sound fairly reasonable and not have no friggin mispelled

words. ;-)

Hey Butch-

 

And I can't tell you how much we miss the old days of the 'real' conferences,

which was the conversation that happened in the bar after the supposed

conference was closed for the day. We had some great conversations back then,

eh? Thanks so much for not taking offense at my post, because you know none was

intended, just as we know no one had any notion of stepping on toes with the

name. And we appreciate you standing up and taking the credit, tho I admit I

was just walking past the computer (which is still always on) and seeing the

title of the post and saying, Hey, wait a minute! :-) So I didn't know and

it's not important where the idea came from. Like I said we are flattered that

you all must have enjoyed our Un-Conferences enough to want to carry the idea

on. We had some great times.

 

The shame of it all for me is that I am still so extremely sensitive to any and

all scents. So going to any such get togethers is just out of the picture for

us - or me, that is - and I really, really do miss the old crowd. Well, most

of them, at least. :-D So if anyone is ever passing through Tucson, please do

look us up for a meal, and we have a big convertible sofa if anyone needs a bed

for the night. You are most welcome at any time.

 

And I thank Chris, too, for always being so gracious to allow me to stick my two

cents in once in a blue moon. I hope you all have a great time, and hey, raise

a glass to us while you are there, huh?
