Guest guest
OK ANYA,just sent this to that article author. Not much more to be said than has not been stated many times before. This plantation stuff is hogwash and remains that for many years until the trees are mature. Not at all against the plantations, just anti the way aromatherapists are fooled by suppliers that this is where their oil comes from. ------------ I suggest you read the articles on this web site exposing the commercial exploitation of wild species of Sandalwood by the Mt Romance company: www.chrissie-wildwood.com Your article is all about plantations which is fine, but in the meantime trees are being cut in wild areas. The biggest problem is that the trees occur in very remote areas and grow on poor soils. You cannot possibly replant trees in such an environment. You would need a whole army of workers to care for the newly planted trees such as watering them till they get established and preventing wild creatures damaging the young trees. Believe me that just aint gonna happen. Therefore, they are depleting a limited natural resource and it is *not being replaced*.
