Guest guest
I know Anya has already posted on this, but European readers really must visit the Cropwatch website to read the latest trash coming from the EEC: www.cropwatch.org The cumulative efforts of these idiots are slowly but surely destroying the essential oils trade. Although most on this group are in the USA and Canada, all this does affect you because the EEC directives cover imports from around the world. If the producers do not comply, their products will be banned from being imported. Many of these producers are in under developed countries and are relatively small scale. They will switch to growing less problematic crops or will go out of business. You will be affected by huge price hikes in the cost of oils and with some they may well go out of production. For example, rose is fast going in that direction as the low paid labour in Bulgaria is leaving the country for work in better off EEC countries. Already the cost of Jasmin from Egypt has almost forced that off the market. Therefore, more regulation will be the straw that broke the camels back. The big boys who used to use most of the worlds oils are fast turning away from natural extracts and towards more synthetics due directly to EEC regulations. What makes me furious is that the Mandarins in these EEC committees are totally undemocratic and the public seem powerless to reign them in. They are contributing to global warming by promoting synthetic products over those extracted from plants. Even worse is it is all based on lousy scientific data. Guest guest
The idiots are mucking with more than just the essential oil trade, and I'm afraid it may all be connected, and it does affect us, Martin, you are so right. A tri-lateral organization is being formed between Canada/US/Mexico patterned after the EU. Here in the U.S., our rights to unencumbered use of essential oils are ultimately tied to health freedom . . . Constantly being challenged. Check out Rob's quick notes and news on http://www.aromaconnection.org today, the last item . . . And read Mike Adams' pages there. Hope you also follow on to Rima Laibow's petition to the FDA, as well if you are here in the U.S. We've got to keep our eyes open and continue active resistance, folks. If you live in WA state, we've been blessed in that legislation was passed some time ago to include all health modalities be covered by insurance . . . Well, the idiots are trying to change that . . . Rail at your local state reps. Might not hurt the rest of you to see what's going on in your states. The closing of the homeopathic hospital in London . . . All a move for the allopaths and pharmaceutical giants to control your life . . . Just as the petrochemical companies have partnered with the food giants to garner control of your diet and subsequent health or lack of, to be more precise. Also quick answer to Stacey's earlier question about what can we do about the disappearing bees there . . . Check out first item in the notes and news on the aromaconnection blog from Tumbledown. It's a start. Be Well, Marcia Elston http://www.wingedseed.com http://www.aromaconnection.org " Give thanks for a little and you will find a lot.
