Guest guest
Hey y'all, This is not about any particular conspiracy .. its about conspiracies in general. The List Mama gave me permission to post it but she said she'd break my arm if I asked again. ;-) This will be my only post of the day .. so smile. Well .. at least for my day .. its around 9:30 at night here now - and I have a kitchen pass so I'm gonna mosey down to our favorite watering hole (the Papsi Pub) and argue conspiracies with a bunch of international folks. Been a tough day .. spent hours in court in a case I have against a " shady " organization that conspired to defraud me through use of my credit cards .. then to notary publics and translation bureaus. I'd rather go to a dentist .. which I gotta do next week cause they gonna do a tooth implant .. which I am really looking forward to. So my sweet wife gave me the night off. ;-) I have a few orders that I have not confirmed .. but I will get to them this weekend. Won't do any good to confirm them now cause my folks in MD are booked solid with orders now .. they won't get through all of them today. Advertising on these lists does pay off .. the ad I placed yesterday on the 2 fer 1 sale .. dang near all the Fennel Seed Hydrosol has been sold .. and a lotta the other things. :-P Susan wrote: >>I need for a conspiracy to make sense, but knock yourselves out... Me too .. but I reckon in some ways I'm like other folks cause sometimes when we have a REAL STRONG DISLIKE for something/someone we really WANT TO BELIEVE anything we hear about it/them .. when that happens otherwise logical folks can turn here say into reality .. turn suspicion into evidence and listen only to those who have a position that is similar to theirs .. or to how they wish it were. Other times we read just enough on a tale to support the belief we want to have .. if we read it completely it might burst the balloons of misinformation we want to hold on to. The entire Young Living scene is a good example of a conspiracy to make money by hoodwinking the gullible. Folks who have checked into the facts know that its a world of make believe but try to convince one of Mr. Charisma's groupies of these facts and they will start sending you nasty grams for slamming their " savior " . Conspiracies been around since afore man knew how to write .. gullible and/or bored folks sometimes thrive on them .. makes their lives more interesting. Throughout history, folks were lynched, drowned, burned at the stake, drawn and quartered and did away with in ways that made those mentioned seem like a Sunday drive in the park .. due to conspiracies and folks wanting to believe them. Sometimes conspiracies are plots to deceive or frame the innocent for monetary or political gain .. sometimes they are the workings of sick minds .. and sometimes the workings of a genius who enjoys watching the sheeple grab onto the fantasy world s/he has created. Better it might be if we accept that almost all conspiracy theories can not hold water these days. Was a time maybe they could but not now. When the President of the United States can not get a Hum Job without the entire world knowing about it .. we see that maybe its not so easy to hoodwink most of the people most of the time .. anymore. True it is that folks often search for hidden meaning where there is none and if they find a random set of coincidences they can connect the dots to create so-called credible evidence if they so desire. If we want to focus unremarkable occurrences we can make of them what we wish, its not a lot different than playing children's cloud games .. or even connecting the dots to create constellations. If I believed that the news media, all politicians, all career civil servants, all emergency service personnel and all military personnel were stupid or could be bought or threatened into silence .. then I might consider starting an underground movement to overthrow the powers that be. That's not so foreign for Americans .. its how we got started in the first place. Its only criminal if I fail in my mission. If I believed all the above I would not return to the USA .. I'd give up my American citizenship and accept Turkish citizenship. Check this story out .. its about the 9/11 Conspiracy movement .. http://abcnews.go.com/US/wireStory?id=2279963 There's no shortage of 9/11 Conspiracy Theory blogs and sites .. a few http://www.911truth.org/ http://www.conspiracyplanet.com/channel.cfm?ChannelID=89 http://www.care2.com/c2c911conspiracy http://www.americanfreepress.net/html/9-11_conspiracy.html There are a few hundred (thousand?) more links. The number of 9/11 Conspiracy Theories/Rumors will most likely never die because they feed upon one another .. few web sites even to try debunk them .. and few work to prove the moon is not made of green cheese. One site has done a bit of work .. Popular Mechanics http://www.popularmechanics.com/technology/military_law/1227842.html Sometimes a Conspiracy Theory could more accurately be described as a Hoax or an Urban Legend. If you are ever bored .. or suffering from insomnia .. go here http://www.snopes.com/ .. some of the tales are interesting and they're dang sure guaranteed to put you to sleep. I wouldn't expect folks to read all of the below .. if they did they would just be touching the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the number of active conspiracy theories that are on the Net now. http://www.snopes.com/rumors/pentagon.htm http://www.snopes.com/rumors/israel.htm http://www.snopes.com/rumors/taxi.htm http://www.snopes.com/rumors/wingdings.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/fema.htm http://www.snopes.com/legal/fema.htm http://www.snopes.com/rumors/domain.htm http://www.snopes.com/rumors/atta.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/putcall.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/flights.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/legalaid.htm http://www.snopes.com/business/taxes/blackssn.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/7eleven.htm http://www.snopes.com/business/origins/cabbage.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/captured.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/glenn.htm http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/safedeposit.asp http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/moontruth.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/business/mondex.asp http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/march8.htm http://www.snopes.com/business/money/strip.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/bodycount.asp http://www.snopes.com/business/alliance/marlboro.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/wandawi.htm http://www.snopes.com/medical/disease/aids.asp http://www.snopes.com/legal/martial.asp http://www.snopes.com/critters/malice/shark.htm http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/fcc.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/crime/mohr.asp http://www.snopes.com/racial/business/kosher.htm http://www.snopes.com/humor/jokes/ford.asp Some have a grain or three of truth but " maybe " the situation is not as bad as or complete as reported .. or as some want to believe it is. http://www.snopes.com/rumors/woods.htm http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/hildabeast.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/clintons/panthers.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/kerry/connelly.asp http://www.snopes.com/rumors/arabic.htm http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/outrage/mlking.asp http://www.snopes.com/religion/islam.htm http://www.snopes.com/photos/gruesome/interrogate.asp http://www.snopes.com/glurge/fortune.asp http://www.snopes.com/politics/israel/bodyshop.asp > [Dave:] All you have to do is look at the evidence. It's abundant > on the Internet, and even if you take it all with a HUGE grain of > salt, once you begin digging, your mind will change. Sorry Dave .. I can't buy that. There is lots of abundant garbage on the Net .. its totally uncontrolled. That so called " evidence " you speak of is everything but conclusive .. as one who has spent many hours in court rooms I believe its not even credible circumstantial evidence. I have seen many cases where what appeared to be far more credible evidence later proved to be incorrect after close examination ... American prosecutors are now learning that lesson now .. they must have their ducks in line .. the case of the 3 falsely accused Duke Lacrosse players in North Carolina is gonna change a few things in the courtroom. Few folks spend time countering conspiracy theories because to do so would give the theory credibility .. in most cases, those who preach conspiracy find themselves alone and preaching to an empty court room. > The problem is, most people just shrug it off as you just did, > without doing the research. I have done much research. I have friends who did one HECKUVA LOTTA research following 9/11. These friends are like me .. they would burn the butts of anyone we believed was guilty of a crime .. no way could anyone shut us up .. and they are a long way from being stupid .. or gullible. True it is that they ride for the brand because that is what professionals must do to be professional but if they think the brand is rustling or cross branding .. they will quit and then they would NOT keep their mouths shut! > I won't even try to convince you. Thankee sir. :-p > You're interested enough in aromatherapy to research items, aren't > you? The evidence is overwhelming, and I'm not talking about wackos > with wild theories. Take it or leave it. I don't think I should > bring it up again. Good idea .. I think there is absolutely nothing to be gained by even discussing individual conspiracy theories .. plus the List Mama done put the Habeus Quietis on it anyway. The reason I asked her to let me reply to this thread was because two folks on the list wrote me off line and said they had never heard that there was a 9/11 conspiracy. Ain't nothing goes down in gummit in any country that does not result in some kind of conspiracy claim by certain elements. Search the Net and we can find so-called credible information showing that Christians and Jews and Masons and NBC, CBS, the U.S. Army and our Local PTA are involved in some sort of devious conspiracy to change the way we live. Sometimes there is a positive side to every negative .. how it might apply to Conspiracy Theories is it brings folks together folks who otherwise could never agree on anything. It brings together those who are on the outer fringes of the left and right flank of society. Good it is, I think, that those in the middle outnumber both groups. ;-) Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
