For sure on that .. if one was standing beside the still they could

not get it for less than $5,500 a kilo .. if they have a lucky day. I

don't have the post handy that shows the size of this alleged $5.40

bottle of Melissa (Melissa officinalis) .. but the $5,500 a kilo

price works out to initial cost of around $11.65 a milliliter at the

still. Those who purchase larger volume can get a break on the cost

but not a heckuva lot. Melissa is costly because it has an extremely

low yield .. lower even than Rose Otto which takes 4 metric tons

(8,800 lbs) of blossoms to produce on kilogram (2.2 lbs) of Rose Otto.

Melaleuca minor is a synonym for Vietnamese Cajeput .. which could

sell for $5.40 or so for 15 ml. Its lower quality than Australian

Cajeput (Melaleuca cajuputii).

True it is .. in this business if one is ignorant it means they are

too lazy to become educated .. and if they are not educated and they

are selling products to the public .. then they are dishonest.

Good advice to the new folks this is. IF you think you have found a

bargain that is too good to be true .. bet your bootie it ain't true.

I know dozens of distillers .. none of them are bucking for sainthood

so they're not into giving their products away to the poor and needy

... nor can they sell the products for less than cost of production ..

however, many of them go broke because they are too small and their

cost of production is higher than the average international market for

a particular product. There are no free lunches so if someone offers

you one .. run the other way cause you are about to become shafted!!

Caveat Emptor is the name of the game in any unregulated industry.
