Guest guest
Hey y'all, Some of the controlled, standardized, globalized, idealistic rules to control the daily lives of citizens that has been generated by and is now being exported by the EU is giving the average rebellious American a case of heartburn. We've discussed this in detail on this list. Martin confirmed the EU's lack of ability to enforce regulations they put in place. One of the reasons is they failed to install an arm of enforcement prior to implementation .. one of the other reasons (I am convinced) is that many of the member countries who are supposed to be bound by these regulations (including rules restricting the use of natural products) don't agree with them .. and as I said yesterday, I believe folks will normally disregard laws they don't respect. As I wrote yesterday, I am not going to lose any sleep over attempts by the FDA to control the use of natural products in the USA. In the first place, I'm not sure they can or will do it, in the second place, if they do get some regulations in place .. I believe they will not be capable of enforcing them and in time, a backlash of public disgust will result in them being withdrawn. What is happening now is being reported by the media from the left and right of center .. the sly, but obvious attempts by Big Pharma to control and the possible conflict of interest on the part of the FDA are obvious to even the most casual observer. This will (I belive) backfire on them in time and if someone in the FDA upsets the media .. they'll go after them and get some blood. In the USA today .. it appears that in some cases those who have great influence over the lives and fortunes of others are also those who have the most skeletons in their own closets .. but they can still wield big sticks .. examples are the News Media .. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. ;-) There are many problems in the EU .. we don't need these problems and I am convinced that most Americans won't tolerate them. For more than 25 years I have forecasted (and hoped) that the EU would wake up some day and realize that they are creating a recipe for disaster. The system is not Democratic .. therefore, it is Autocratic .. it is what the European people wanted to avoid in the first place and I believe that they're not going to be satisfied living under such a system. They will rebel. The original idea of a European Community was based on very valid reasons but in my opinion, their attempt to create the Perfect Utopian Society has gone far beyond the original intent and has created a real monster. Less Government is ALWAYS the Best Government!!! Lots of articles on the EU and their problems here. http://www.spiegel.de/international/0,1518,k-6717,00.html Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
I agree completely. I'm just not going to get in a tizzy over this anymore. I'm going to continue creating and selling my products, with or without approval, permit. I'll comment on the FDA site and write my duly elected reps but I'm not loosing sleep over it. Guest guest
I agree completely. I'm just not going to get in a tizzy over this anymore. I'm going to continue creating and selling my products, with or without approval [Dave:] Since I work at a natural foods store, I have of course had many conversations about this with both co-workers and customers. It is a matter of major concern, but there are also a lot of rumors floating around. One obvious thought that comes up is that if these restrictive laws get passed, people will simply go underground. I’ve heard some interesting speculation about the possibility of a resurgence of brujos and wise women. -- Version: 7.5.446 / Virus Database: 269.4.0/760 - Release 4/13/2007 8:04 PM -- Version: 7.5.446 / Virus Database: 269.4.0/760 - Release 4/13/2007 8:04 PM
Guest guest
LOL! Since I live very near Miami, I can tell you there are brujos. Let's just hope that for those who would go underground there's no resurgence of the Inquisition! ;-) David Lambert <dlmbrt wrote: I agree completely.
