Who's bandwagon can we jump on? How can > the little guy get in there and fight this? I hate to sound like I have given up but at this point I don't see that there is much we can do BEFORE the fact .. there is probably more to be done AFTER the fact. We can write to our elected reps but they don't read our letters .. their staffers do. If a staffer is an Aromatherapy Practitioner on the side then maybe the politician will see the letter. Now, protests are coming from folks who appear to have vested financial interests in seeing regulations squashed .. or those who support these people .. so the opposition (gummit) can say there is a certain lack of credibility in those protests. When I read the proposed regs I don't see them taking away our right to sniff EO or use herbs .. I see them tightening up the common practice of many today who practice medicine without a license. Many folks have said for a long time that the antics of Young Living will someday result in gummit control of Alternative & Complementary Health modalities .. I hate to use the term Alternative & Complementary Medicine .. though that is what the FDA is calling it .. because there is no way to counter them if you use such terms. Efforts to counter incorrect gummit regulations on what can NOT be used are a different matter .. that is what has happened in some cases in the EU. Those decisions are based on misinformation and hidden agendas and attempts to counter them have been ongoing in the EU for some time now .. and I believe Martin will agree that very little progress has been made BEFORE the fact .. but some progress was made later in having some of the regs overturned in the courts. I'm still not convinced that what the FDA can do is as critical to Health Freedom as some have interpreted the actions to be .. again, I don't think they can enforce their regs even if they do get them approved and on paper. A lot of what the FDA and many other gummit agencies do is designed to cover their butts .. and enforcement of these regs is not usually a matter of priority .. but they are there in case they want to use them against someone on an individual basis. Lately, I have been more concerned about the environment and what the gummit is NOT doing than I am about what they think they can do by passing ridiculous laws to micromanage Complementary and Alternative Health programs .. if they want to micromanage Complementary and Alternative MEDICINE programs .. that is another matter. I am sorta thinking that this is what it is really all about. > Susan > www.triorganics.com Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
