Guest guest
ok...I KNOW I can not use essential oils (any of them...including lavender) on my neck - I am extremely sensitive and its almost as if I have 'hives' so close to the surface of the skin that even the remote possibility of having it on my hands and rubbing my neck will produce a horrible red itchy hive type rash over my entire neck area......ok....that being said (and it took me a LONG time to figure that one out! kept blaming it on being poison ivy, allergic reaction to my chickens ect ect...) but now I have none of that around...so now I know its the oils. Anyway - I was using a bar of natural soap the other day and it had orange oil in it and also orange zest for exfoliating purposes - smelled great - and I've used it many times before without incidence. However, this time, as I was washing my face and neck with it - a piece of the orange peel must have been to 'sharp' and it made a scratch about 4 " long on the length of my neck. After seeing this, I figured - oh yes, I'll clear that right up with some lavendar oil....gads .. .. will I never STOP and THINK!!!! anyway, long story short - a day later I now have a big wide area on my neck that is red, splotchy and very very itchy. I'm dousing it actually with peroxide and then putting an antibacterial cream on it to soothe the itching....but I was wondering if anyone might know of a poultice or medicine that I can put on it to increase the healing time and ease the itching...... lesson learned for sure.....no oils of ANY KIND on my neck.....never ever ever ever.... thanks for any help suffern me Pam
Guest guest
I have a condition which I had never heard of till recently. I always noticed that if I have a shower I would get a lot of water bubbles under my skin and my skin would break around the neck area especially where the force of water hit it. It turns out hat some of us have bigger spaces in our skin that allows water to permeate it. This type of skin is extra sensitive to other things we use as well, many of them going under the skin through these pores rather than sitting on top and filling in the cracks as they should. I believe many more of us have this condition than was once realised. I also did a bunch of googling on this subject and on several newsgroups I was so surprised that there are posts listed about this same condition! No answers mind you - but a good number of people suffer from this outbreak underneath skin/neck - sure wish someone would really figure out what causes it and how to heal it QUICKLY! I still think its due to an adverse reaction of oils, but ....? who knows thanks for your input! Pam

Guest guest
I get very red and itchy, have to avoid scratching. If I have a shower and allow the flow to hit one spot of skin too long I will get a hole down to the flesh. It also seems to affect my feel and shins with it getting very itchy especially after sh owering and then will gradually start to seep blood from the skin. Many mornings I awake to find huge crusts of blood on my top of my feet ad shins with no visible injury, just the skin seeping through. (Wonder if this is like stigmatism? LOL) It gets so itchy. - " Pam Staley " <pam Thursday, April 19, 2007 12:52 AM Re: need help with sensitization > so - Leslie - what do you do? does it also itch in your case? mine is > a big splotchy red mass of itchy bumps....hoping that the benadryl > helps a bit...hate taking 'medicine' but I'm desparate!
