I'd call my credit card company and complain. They'll give you back your money AND charge the offending company a minimum of $25 for the complaint. They also will then have to take the time to handle the dispute (or not if they don't care)....and it goes against their record with their merchant account. Guest guest
Here is a question for the group, what do you feel is an acceptable amount of time to wait for a refund? Here is my situation, I placed an order to a company early January, got a confirmation but nothing on it told me about my shipping fees. Time past and I heard nothing more. Early March, I wrote to the company and my emails were ignored, I did manage to get a response but it took a few weeks. Well, Its now April 19th and frankly I am tired of being promised a refund and never seeing it. It really ticks me off that a company can charge my credit card for an order that it NEVER ships out and then can give me the run around for this long. Another question for the group, what steps do you feel I should take next? Should I OUT this company to everyone I know? So far I have been very nice, but enough is enough. What would you all do in my situation? I look forward to your responses.. Carol
Guest guest
first thing I'd do is contact my credit card company and dispute the charge and tell them why and I'd also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau (you can do this on line - I've done it a few times) Paula ....... in Michigan www.farmfreshsoapsandcandles.com farmfreshsoapsandcandles > > Here is a question for the group, what do you feel is an acceptable > amount of time to wait for a refund? > > Here is my situation, I placed an order to a company early January, > got a confirmation but nothing on it told me about my shipping fees. > Time past and I heard nothing more. > > Early March, I wrote to the company and my emails were ignored, I did > manage to get a response but it took a few weeks. Guest guest
Anytime you have a situation like this and you have charged it to a credit card, contact the credit card company and tell them you want to dispute the charges. But you must do it in a timely manner (I believe you have either 60 or 90 days from the time it posted to your account - check with your credit card company). (My credit card company has always reversed the charge in question right away.) Then the complaint company has a certain amount of time to respond. Depending on their response (or lack thereof), the issue might be settled. If they disagree, you again get the opportunity to dispute it. Then the credit card company will make a final decision. It's best to keep copies of any type correspondence you have with the company, and also to make notes of any phone conversations. The more backup info you have, the better.
