My own Adrenal Glands seem to be stuck on full throttle, open, I am strung

like a telephone wire, even to the point of throwing up today, It feels

like an ulcer is coming on it is so strongly affecting me.

I feel like I am on a rollercoaster ride in the stomach with butterflies, my

hearing is at full listening capacity.

DO you have any recommendations for me to try.

With many thanks.

Leslie

You say: my hearing is at full listening capacity.

Are you hyper-sensitive to sounds? Have trouble

sleeping? Constipated?

That may be an indication of magnesium deficiency.

Magnesium is one of the calming minerals.

More people are deficient in it than in Calcium.

It won't hurt you to take some. It is cheap, safe, and

if that is what you need nothing else will quite do.

If that isn't it, what all have you tried in the way

of calming herbs and/or oils? There are so many!

Which reminds me. I promised my Irises some Epsom

salt. (it is magnesium sulphate) Ever since I started

doing that they have bloomed! Bless their glorious

hearts, deer don't seem to eat them.

For those who suffer these kinds of symptoms – say, those which are very

real but which tend not to fit any off-the-cuff profile in the allopath’s

office – I can’t recommend strongly enough that you make an appointment with

a naturopath! I can’t of course guarantee that you will be cured or even

helped. What you can be sure of is that you’ll come away with a very

different picture of how your body works, and what is necessary to maintain

it in optimum health. The fifty bucks or so that one visit will cost will

be money well spent!

My wife has suffered from fibromyalgia for nearly twenty years. Most of

that time she has been treated by Kaiser physicians, who have put her on an

assortment of drugs. Some are to help her sleep, some are to boost her

mood, some are for pain. None of this has done her any good, and the last

couple of years have been especially heartbreaking, as her condition has

gone downhill so much that six months ago she was in a wheelchair most of

the time. This spring we began visiting a naturopath. In about three

months this guy has done more for her than all the previous doctors

combined. How, you may ask. Massage, acupressure, dietary and lifestyle

counseling. That’s it. When she first began visiting him, she would scream

in pain when he massaged her, and he would tell her what pain in that area

was an indication of. More importantly, he told her how to give that part

of the body the resources it needed to be able to heal. I’m telling you,

this does work. Now, she almost goes to sleep on the table. She has walked

without support SINCE THE FIRST VISIT. We know it will take two to three

years to rebuild her vitality. She is tapering off the prescriptions. She

can be healthy by age 65. Is this important? Kaye is a southern belle who

went bungi-jumping for her 50th birthday. Damn right it is.

Please don’t pillory me with the characterization that I am painting all

doctors as incompetent or worse. Every time I bring up alternate medicine

there are those who point out how a doctor saved their life, or the life of

their child. I do not dispute any of this. Modern medicine is capable of

incredible successes. My point is that western medicine is oriented toward

a particular view of the body, and that there are other, equally valid,

approaches. A naturopath does not prescribe drugs, and he may tell you that

you need to see an ordinary doctor. But he may also be able to offer you a

near-miracle. Our ND, Phil Selinsky, has a very interesting website, which

you can see here:
