OK, color me whatever -- but I think this is so alarmist.

We already have areas of the world that are unstable: in the middle

east, in Africa, in middle and south America. People are already

leaving those areas now. So now they're going to blame it on global

warming?

I'm not saying we don't need to clean up our act and do it every day

(but forget me taking Sheryl Crow's suggestion) - but part of me

can't help but think " these generals are taking themselves a bit too

serious " . Let's win the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq -- then you can

address the global warming issue.

And let's get the immigration and border problems worked out, as well.

I live on 180 acres of pasture land with grass fed cows and horses.

My gardening is all organic (because I'm lazy). I probably use more

than my share of gas, but I live 20 miles from town and go to work

everyday, but I pay my taxes. I take my own trash to the county dump

and we don't pour any kind of chemicals, etc. onto the ground because

we don't want to corrupt the ground water.

I'm doing as much as I can for my immediate environment and I'm

barely getting by with the taxes I have to pay. I do not want a buch

extra taxes forced down my throat by a bunch of socialized

international alarmists - which taxes I would probably never see

utilized here in my neck of the woods. Locally, I'll do my part --

internationally -- forget it.

In some areas, like Darfur, overpopulation and

climate change is definitely a factor in the instability.

Doris Lessing, who knows the region well, wrote years

ago that the real story was that Southern Africa is

drying up.
