Guest guest
It sounds like violets - but not knowing where you are, how big the flowers are, how many petals, etc., etc., it's hard to say. Image Google " sweet violet " and see if that is what you have. Guest guest
Hi, there is a plant growing in my yard and I was wondering if it was an herb or something I should be saving. It grows very low to the ground with green heart shaped leaves and purple flowers. Does that sound familiar? Jo Ann Nourse

If so, they are pretty in a salad or floating in some iced tea and they make tasty jelly. Jo Ann Nourse It could be violets, but then most people know a violet when they see one, so you'reless likely to ask...is it in sun or shade? If shade, could it be wild ginger? If so, it is definitely worth keeping. Google it.

Guest guest
To me it sounds like it could be Morning Glory, which will grow close tot he ground till it finds a building to cover. Have attached a couple of pics for you to see. If you cant find them just do a google on Morning Glory and then select images. You will soon see these heart shaped leaves and bright purple flowers. The white is not a intrusive as the blue/purple. Cheers LOL, Leslie - " ida wester " <iwester what plant is in back yard > Sounds to me like hen bit and very hard to get rid of it....Around here it > is like bind weed. > Diana Shipton what plant is in back yard >> ... Guest guest
I looked at the pictures for morning glory and the flowers have small individual petals. I think it looks more like the purple flowers for wild violets. With all of the rain that we have been getting they are all over the backyard and beautiful.
