Guest guest
Hey Bobbi, > Hi Butch, > > We are are scheduled to arrive on May 15 in Istanbul. Agree .. you will see no rioting here .. just organized protests .. but by the time you get here even that will long be over. > He is concerned -- should I be? We will be in the Sulamet District for > 2 nights and on board a cruise ship for 2 nights docked near Istanbul. Absolutely no reason to be concerned .. if you were going on vacation to Miami or New York or Chicago or Los Angeles any time .. I would say you have a lot to be concerned about. ;-) > If the streets are full of protesters one would think that the tour > guides we have hired for 3 days might be unable to take us very far. There will be no protest at that time .. whatever is going to happen will be over and gone by the end of next week. Besides. the protests are not unruly .. the government told them where they could meet .. it was in Sisli .. outer limit of Istanbul in an area large enough to accomodate the large crowds and the stages and musicians .. it was very orderly .. not a single arrest that I am aware of. Families were there with little children. > Any comments will be appreciated. You got it .. come to Turkey and enjoy. I will be leaving 3 days after you arrive. Have fun .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
