Guest guest
Hey Kathleen, > ANYWAY... The Secret = The Power of Positive Thinking... Yay or nay? I believe that positive thinking gives us a sense of relief in the crazy world of 2007. For example .. many folks are worried about becoming one of the many victims of crime (rape, robbery, murder, terrorism, etc.). when in reality we should do their best to avoid placing themselves in an environment or situation where we are likely to become same .. and learn to defend ourselves and our loved ones (i.e., learn weapons safety and keep our piece locked and loaded) .. and hope for good luck. Positive thinking is a good thing. Example .. feeling safe is one part diligence and one part fantasy. > Going to bed now, I think I'm confusing myself. I'm sorta confused too .. packers coming on 16 May. I'm jumping through my butt now. Going through boxes of crap I've accumulated since 1988 .. selling or giving away the last few pieces of furniture or 220V electric stuff I don't want to take with me .. gotta get a new passport and a will and retired military ID card .. all are outdated or about to expire .. gotta do a lotta customs humma-humma involving Noters and Muhtars and other useless officials .. then after all that gotta do a trip to the Rose Fields .. then the fun begins .. get on the plane, land in Atlanta .. buy a car .. pick the family up at Dulles a few days later .. travel to Tennessee and buy a home .. then figure out how we're gonna live till household goods arrive (while in the military we could send via air hold baggage .. but too costly for out of pocket expense), and the above just touches the tip of the iceberg. Fun time it is fer'shur and with a positive attitude, chin tucked low, shoulders squared and aching muscles .. I'm leaning forward in the saddle and getting there slowly but surely. ;-) > K Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com Light a Candle for the Innocent Victims of Online Child Pornography http://www.lightamillioncandles.com/
Guest guest
Hey Woobey and The Butcher, The Secret and the whole concept behind what it is about is a lot more than JUST positive thinking. Its about reprogramming yourself to not focus and dwell on the crap that only serves to tear you down in life. It also is about taking personal responsibility for your life, your thoughts, your actions and how you and only you let the events of your life affect you and they way you view your world. I also think The Secret only touches on the greater subject as The Secret mostly focuses on " The Law Of Attraction " , which is just one part of a larger picture One of my favorite sayings EVER is " Life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it " . If only more folks thought about their life that way. The world would then not be so full of " victims " with a woe is me mentality who are perpetually pissing and moaning and frankly making things worse for themselves and all around them. The alternative to fostering and promoting the idea of being a victim is being a survivor, being a winner, being grateful, being successful. Every one of us can live up to our true potential - if we let ourselves. Kathleen, might I suggest, watching the DVD of The Secret instead of reading that in book version, and then checking out Jack Canfield's " Success Principals " book as well as Brian Tracy's " The Psychology of Achievement " audio set All were available at my public library. Butch, quite a few of the things I've read lately I think you'd be rather into and agree with as I am reminded of certain things we've talked about - especially subjects touching on how the way one looks at life can change their life and the power that folks ultimately have to decide where there life is taking them Good luck with the move .. both of you! *Smile* Chris (list mom - off to get coffee and have a wonderfully productive and rosy day) Spray Your Petunias With Organic Rose Hydrosol!
