Guest guest
Do you have a Costco in your area? The Costco here in Houston has the book " the Secret " - I think it is the one you guys are talking about. Guest guest
I believe that positive thinking gives us a sense of relief in the crazy world of 2007. For example .. many folks are worried about becoming one of the many victims of crime (rape, robbery, murder, terrorism, etc.). when in reality we should do our best to avoid placing ourselves in an environment or situation where we are likely to become same .. and learn to defend ourselves and our loved ones (i.e., learn weapons safety and keep our piece locked and loaded) .. and hope for good luck. [Dave:] I agree with all of the above. It’s wise also to inform oneself – to know, for instance, that most crime stats are actually down in spite of the headlines. If it bleeds, it leads – they don’t publish the good news much. Another crucial truth: stuff happens. Some of it will happen to me, some to you. When it does: get over it. Change what you can, accept what you can’t, and move on. Having a basically positive attitude is the only thing I know that allows you to do that. Guest guest
Hi Butch... >>>>>>packers coming on 16 May. I'm jumping through my butt now. Going through boxes of crap I've accumulated since 1988 .. selling or giving away the last few pieces of furniture or 220V electric stuff I don't want to take with me .. gotta get a new passport and a will and retired military ID card .. all are outdated or about to expire .. gotta do a lotta customs humma-humma involving Noters and Muhtars and other useless officials .. then after all that gotta do a trip to the Rose Fields .. then the fun begins .. get on the plane, land in Atlanta .. buy a car .. pick the family up at Dulles a few days later .. travel to Tennessee and buy a home .. then figure out how we're gonna live till household goods arrive (while in the military we could send via air hold baggage .. but too costly for out of pocket expense), and the above just touches the tip of the iceberg.<<<<<<< Wow, it sounds like you are getting ready for the adventure of a lifetime. I know it seems so overwhelming right now, but it does sound like a fun ride. You guys will do fine. Guest guest
Although The Secret may not be NEW news, the message is out there for those who are ready to receive it. It seems to me that whatever it takes, or works, for one individual to proceed through life is more important than where the message came from. P.S. The Secret inspired me to make some changes. Now I need to go back and read The Power of Positive Thinking again, thanks to all of you. I know it's on the shelf somewhere with a lot of dust on it...LOL.
