Guest guest
Hi y'all, Below are results of an CNN Opinion Research Corporation poll on what issues will be the most important to voters in the coming election. I know that many of you are probably not signed up for the CNN news and I think you must do this to open the link .. maybe not. http://i.a.cnn.net/cnn/2007/images/05/09/rel6e.pdf Since I'm not sure I'll give the highlites .. like I said in an earlier post .. Global Warming/Climate Change is not the most important issue to me now .. there are others that are more critical today. Seems that a lot of folks agree with me. From top to bottom the issues are: Extremely Very Moderately Not That No Important Important Important Important Opinion Iraq 51% 37% 9% 2% * Terrorism 45% 35% 14% 6% * Education 44% 37% 16% 3% * Health 43% 35% 18% 4% * Care Gas 43% 31% 16% 10% 1% Prices Clean 41% 36% 17% 7% * Government Iran 38% 39% 17% 5% 1% Soc. Scty 38% 37% 20% 4% * & Medicare Economy 33% 46% 16% 4% * Illegal 31% 32% 26% 10% 1% Immig. Taxes 30% 40% 23% 6% 1% Budget 30% 24% 26% 9% 2% Deficit Global 27% 26% 27% 19% 1% Warming Abortion 27% 24% 24% 24% 1% Gun 26% 26% 29% 17% 2% Policy Stem Cell 20% 28% 28% 21% 3% Research Policies 13% 15% 30% 41% 1% toward Gay & Lesbian There is a lotta Gallup Poll data on the economy .. not gonna list it. But important I think is this .. Do you think America should provide a National Health Insurance Program for all Americans, even if this would require higher taxes? The second set of figures (to the right) is the reply to the same question but it applies to children under 18. Yes .............. 64% ........... 73% No ............... 35% ........... 25% No Opinion ....... 2% ........... 2% That shows (at least to me) that they did a pretty good random sample, not concentrating on any one socio-economic group. There is a lot of more information on the poll .. and maybe folks can get into the link above. Point is .. I reckon .. we now sorta know which direction the Democrat and Republican candidates are gonna focus their attention .. at least during the campaign .. and Global Warming ain't up there at the top. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
