Color is not an issue .. but unless the Rose has an essential oil ..

then you are not going to get any flavor in the jam .. except sugar.

 

All of the commercial Rose Petal Jam I have ever seen is made from Rosa

damascena (Damask Rose).

Hhmmm, another silly thing to ask but I didn't know there are some

roses that don't produce essential oils and I'm not a gardener so I

don't know much about the different varieties. So, what about the

" typical " rose growing on the rose bush outside my house-useful or
