Guest guest
Hey Rhavda, Please see my notes below. > Dear Chris and List Members, > This is not an ad for ad day but an announcement instead and ad day > seems to be the appropriate play to announce OT subjects. Emison will graduate > > From > The United States Naval Academy > Annapolis, Maryland > With A Degree in > Mechanical Engineering > > And > Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant > In > The United States Marine Corps > > > He has also been accepted in Flight Training after he finishes > Marine Boot Camp early next year. As you well know, I too am proud of any young person who accomplishes what your son has accomplished. The academic degree is commendable for sure .. but in my opinion, the commission is more so. Most smart young folks who want to stick their noses to the grindstone can get a degree in engineering .. but it takes a special, strong person to get that degree in the environment of a US Military Academy .. and earn the right to become a leader of soldiers, sailors or airmen. > We are extremely proud of our son and the many other cadets of all of > our other United States Service Academies and ROTC Programs. These > young people are our leaders of tomorrow and the guardians of our > American way of life. Many of these young graduates will be going > directly into war within weeks after graduation so please remember > them in your prayers and thoughts. They serve our country and we the > people. I absolutely agree .. on all counts. > Here, I would like to say thank-you to Butch Owens and Dave Lambert > and the many other ex-military people that we have on our list for > their service and the service of the members of their families. We > are all one country united in wanting its best. Thank you for all > you have done. And I thank you. I'm proud to say that today the military services do also recognize the sacrifices of family members .. that was not always the case but it has been proven time after time over the years that the attitudes of the US Military has the most affect on social change in America. > We will not be posting much after this weekend because we are going > to drive to Annapolis for Commissioning and Graduation week for our > son next week. If anyone lives off of the road from Arlington, Texas > through Hot Springs/Little Rock, Arkansas through Memphis and through > Nashville, Tennessee through Springfield, Va., please email me > privately and I will bring you some goodies from Texas and say Hi! I hope (and believe) you will enjoy the ceremony .. watch for identified flying objects .. those cadets get a bit excited when they celebrate the pinning on of those gold bars. ;-) > See you back on list after June 3rd. Good luck .. and looking forward to seeing you at the Sun Conference Shindig in Austin in late August. Those on the list who have not yet decided whether they can make it or not .. hold on a bit cause the Woobey Queen gonna provide an update on the goings in a day or so. > Rhavda Cooper Emison > Proud Mom of May, 2007 US Naval Academy Graduate > sos79 Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
