Guest guest
Hey Dave, >>I will mention that I do not agree with Dave on this so-called >> " fix " . How the heck do we get both the left leaning and right >>leaning media to agree to a fix? > > [Dave:] I don't know the answer to how. I do know that if we > cannot trust our media to even deliver the news, much less present > it honestly and without bias, there's a reason. Of course there is a reason .. its about business .. about sponsors and about the political lean of the owners. To even dream of giving total trust to the media is not realistic .. like trusting Saturday Night Wrestling is not realistic. Worldwide the media is biased .. the US Media is perhaps the least biased of all .. and it is biased. Anyone who wants to disagree with this is welcome to do so but it would be nice if they said why they are disagreeing. In the late 70s I was a department chairman/instructor at the John F. Kennedy School of International Studies .. one of the courses in my department was, " The Media as a Tool of Propaganda. " It was such an interesting course that I elected to teach it myself .. I enjoyed being able to take time (on duty) to research the subject. That was almost 30 years ago but even then we knew that the days of Edward R. Murrow were over. To not trust the Media to be totally unbiased is realistic .. but to seek out conspiracies is unrealistic. When the Lion lays down with the Lamb .. that's when Fox News and CNN will be sleeping together. The only conspiracy one should imagine between involving those two would be where one of them was conspiring with someone else to slam the other. ;-) > I mentioned three major news items that have not even been mentioned > in the mainstream news. All three of them are being reported on in > depth on the Internet, but most folks are still naïve enough to > believe what the talking heads at six o'clock tell them. Three > major news stories. Not a word in the commercial, mainstream media. > That's not some kind of a fix? Of course it's not a fix. I'm surprised at you Dave .. you are giving the gummit credit for a lot more organizational ability than they actually have. I don't know which stories you are referring to but I know that the standards and evaluation criteria used by the heads behind the heads to determine what is newsworthy is most often quite different than what we as individuals might consider. If mainstream sources are not reporting on something .. then it means to me that whatever that evaluation criteria is, its being viewed in the same manner by competing news agencies. As for what goes on the I-Net .. I read I-Net news to seek out info in areas that I would bet 90% of the folks on this list would not even give a second thought to viewing. If I am right in that guesstimation then it would explain why what I find is not taking up air time. Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com
