Guest guest
As most are aware the pet food scare has been just that really scary for those of us with beloved pet's. I would like to add to that warning and mention that many hundreds (thousands) of cartons of Monk-Fish that entered the US from China may not be Monk-Fish but Puffer Fish or at least contain Puffer parts. At least two have died from the fish which apparently is so toxic it can kill from being handled. It is not known if this was a mistake or a purposely done act but the warning is there, don't eat Monk-Fish from China till all clear, in fact I would stay away from any seafood from China. On the same topic of toxicity here in Australia one of our most famous personalities Mr. John Law's announced on Friday that some pretty frightening news had just come to him about Formaldehyde in quantities many hundreds of times higher than the allowable limits had been found in Actil and Sheridan brand blankets and bedding made in China. A recall is under way but of most concern is the toxicity of the substance. It seems that most of the blankets and sheets in Australia were used in hospitals and hotels which may account for that very high mortality rate hospitals seem to have acquired. You can probably find about the blanket recall at john laws web page: http://www.mytalk.com.au/NewDesign/Pages/S_Talk_2UE.aspx whilst looking for the link I found another list that as recalls in Canada of some baby items like dummies all made of the soft rubber and containing the same formaldehyde. http://www.valeriemates.com/december/resources.html#recalls I just wanted all to be aware of the serious risks involved in using products from China at the moment where economy takes precedence as it has in the Western world for some time. How long has it been common thinking that anything that is out of date, flawed or even dangerous would be sent off to the Asian markets or donated to Asian charities, we are seeing a full reversal of this process. For this reason we need to understand and act too to make sure we aren't all poisoned one way or another either by greed and need for money or from the toxic by-products or even the products. Bless you all. Leslie P.S I know this is not really an oil topic but I thought it important information as we all use blankets and bedding and many of us eat fish. It makes me wonder what toxic products have been disposed of by mixing them into incense sticks.... ewww. LOL
