Guest guest
Thanks. Wish I was in as good of shape as Mr Clean but I am much shorter, heavier, and have more hair I have always been interested in 'the old way of doing things' - raising and butchering your own meat, rendering my own lard, making soap, etc... Guess it comes from growing up in the country around so many farms - all 4 grand parents were farmers as well as aunts & uncles and now cousins owning farms When I learned I had MS and found that there isn't much 'modern medicine' could do for me, I started to really dig into herbal remedies and aroma therapy. People got sick saw their 'medicine man' ate some leaves and/or berries and got better long before there ever was a medical school and with so many herbal supplements out there, figured there had to be something to it. When my disability went thru and I bought my first computer and internet access, I started doing a lot of on line research. When I check on an unfamiliar herb, I check it out in at least 5 or more places. There is a lot of good info out there and some that shouldn't be out there. I check 5 places and if at least 3 places tell me pretty much the same thing, it's probably the correct info. If my info is close to half and half, I keep looking until I have quite a bit of info pointing one way or the other. Also learned at a young age to be sure of your facts before opening your mouth I used to have a family DR that still made house calls even tho he was 80-some years old. He just retired 3 or 4 years ago. I know of another and if you need to talk to him before office hours, you better head over to his place and check the barn first. He does his chores on the farm starting at 4 am, has breakfast, showers and changes and goes to the hospital, makes his rounds and then goes into the office. He's around 70+, looks about 45 and is probably one of the healthiest people I know Paula Coon www.farmfreshsoapsandcandles.com farmfresahsoapsandcandles > [Dave]: Paula, you're one of the people I rely on for solid herbal and AT info. I'm very good at making herbal soaps, but basically I'm like one of those specialists the HMOs love to send us to: I know a whole lot about very little. You're more like the family doc I remember from when I was little (although I'm assuming YOU don't look like Mr. Clean!)
