And all my 'sunburn soother' and the goodies I needed were at work, not here. Had a half full mister of Helichrysum Hydrosol left from when my friend had all those teeth extracted...(absolutely NO bruising or swelling!!!) so snagged the heli hydrosol and spritzed the kids liberally. Half an hour later they were back for more... it helped. I haven't talked to them this morning yet to see if it is continuing to help... we shall see. Guest guest
SUNBURN. Rub all affected areas with a ripe tomato (cut in half) and run a cool bath with quite a bit of white or brown (is better) vinegar, like a cup or two in a largish bath and a pot of tea which has been made strong and steeped well. The skin will feel taught but then all pain vanishes and comfort last as long as 12 hours. It sure has worked for us all our lives, I don't know if it an old family trick or not but I think it is pretty common practice. [Dave]: Kombucha tea applied locally takes away the pain immediately, and the skin will not blister or peel. If blistering or peeling has already occurred, KT will help it heal rapidly without scarring or infection. Also, I'd never be without a few aloe vera plants. Guest guest
Mum always taught me as we did anything and I remember so much of it. I recall her giving me reasons why the tea works as pain relief, it helps with the tannin. My aloe Vera has not done so well, the drought was in full swing when I put them in so I have no wonder they have I but vanished. Hopefully they will be there in abundance come spring now that it is raining, more rain in a couple of weeks than the last decade. Yipeeeee.
