I thought there might be some of you who would be interested in this.

 

[Dave]: It's a move we're watching here with interest. Wild Oats

recently bought out Henry's, a local natural-foods chain. An acquisiton by

Whole Foods would bring that chain about 40 miles closer to where I live.

The chain I work for, Jimbo's Naturally!, is a local outfit with four

stores. Jimbo's stores are popular, but the company treats its employees

badly. Right now at my store we're saddled with a hopelessly incompetent

manager, and we are losing our best people right and left. Wild Oats

doesn't pay very well, but Whole Foods has a real reputation in the business

for empowering their employees and cultivating their strengths. I've been

saying for a year that they will gobble us up. It's interesting to watch it

play out.
