Guest guest
I had a phototoxic burn from Bergamot oil. I recently reviewed information online at http://www.emedicine .com/DERM/topic324.htm, about phytophotodermatitis. Not being a physician, I have no clue what has created your brown spots, but knowledge of what can happen unknowingly as you work your garden can be very helpful. Guest guest
Thank you for the link. I was very interested when I learned that you can actually make images using some of the oils, like a crude photograph, the best use being for viewing cells in microscopy and such. Guest guest
My mother is a long time user/seller of YL oils - sigh ... and recently she has been fighting an issue with her hands, they keep 'itching' and turning bright red - then an hour later they will look normal, but still itch a bit. She uses the oils like water and is constantly putting various oils on her fingers (cinnnamon/peppermint and all those blends) and then popping them into her mouth to give herself fresh breath. She also is constantly spraying the citrus oils in every room she enters and doesn't smell them as strong as the rest of us. Anyway - back to her hands - she finally went to the doctor and they of course wanted to put some steroids on her hands or give her antibiotics - but she would have none of that - they are going to do some patch testing to see if they can figure out what she is 'allergic' to - and I am trying to convince her to have the oils tested as well - I'm convinced its something from the oils and that she is not totally sensitized to one of them (or many of them) - but being a YL diehard she'll hear none of it since 'she has been using them for years'.... anyway, just another side of the same story - and of course she claims that all those 'warnings' on the net about GY are all bogus....he's a changed man. .... yeah....and I'm the tooth fairy :-) Pam
Guest guest
Are the people who sell these oils the same people who are so rabidly against the use of drugs like prozac and zoloft, etc? Not that these drugs don't deserve warnings but some of these folks appear to take it to extremes and then further investigation shows they recommend replacing the drugs with YL oils. Has anyone else found this to be the case? Guest guest
I'm totally new to the oils but my girlfriend is a fairly new YL rep. and had a meeting with her up-lines at her home with a group of friends. I told them that I hadn't signed up but had bought oils through my girlfriend. I told them I listened to the Cd's and had some problems with hearing and had diabetes. The Cd's said they could cure both so I thought if there was a chance I wanted to try. Nothing they said would cure me did, not even an improvement. However, I did also order some other oils during that time that I wanted to use and have gotten pleasant results from them but they weren't intended to heal serious illness. I think it's cruel to tell someone that their oil will cure them of serious diseases. When I told this that night to her up-lines in a group of people at her house this they asked me how I used the oils and it was topical. They said I should have been taking them all internal and it was my fault that I didn't get results. They went as far as saying that if you didn't believe the oils they couldn't work. They also said they wouldn't let anyone touch their oils that weren't believers because they would ruin the energy in the oils from just holding the bottles. I was definitely cured but it was only from buying YL oils. I highly recommend eo's and will continue to order but NOT from YL and not for illness. My goal recently was to find out more about Gary Young and advise my friends of what they were getting into. That was why I was asking questions. Guest guest
did they use the word " cure? There are many things to discuss about YL and the way they promote EOs but even more important are the things they do not tell you. I would like to see the actual research they have for the statements that were made in your post. Expecially the one negative energy. If you would like to discuss YL off line, please email me. This subject has been on the list many times. I would be glad to speak or write to you about YL. Sincerely, John John J. I'm the one who is sensitized to Lavender eo, among other things, remember? and, as a result, have developed multiple chemical sensitivity. and, as my mentor Sylla used to say... " sensitization is for life. " We are the lucky ones... the reaction is external.. " just " our skin. Linda Sorenson can't BREATHE.. .her reaction is respiratory. You might want to tell your mom that this is NOT going to get better... it gets worse. And, based on my experience, the list of " things " that can trigger a reaction grows and grows. Guest guest
thanks for the reminder - and the info - I too think its sensitization - she uses them so freely - without thinking of the consequences...and at 74 ... she's not listening to me :-) Pam , Marge Clark <marge wrote: > > At 07:22 AM 6/19/2007, you wrote: > > they are going to do some patch testing to see if they > >can figure out what she is 'allergic' to - and I am trying to > >convince her to have the oils tested as well - I'm convinced its > >something from the oils and that she is not totally sensitized to one > >of them (or many of them) - > > Pam, it sounds like sensitization to me. > > I'm the one who is sensitized to Lavender eo, among other things, remember? > > and, as a result, have developed multiple chemical sensitivity. > > and, as my mentor Sylla used to say...
