Guest guest
If you're interested in the FDA's recent proposal that big industry can slap " Organic " labels on non-organic (ie, factory-farmed) ingredients, and the OCA's attempt to stop it, you can read the full petition here: http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_5225.cfm The FDA allowed industry two years to develop this proposal, but the public only got 7 days to comment. In moving forward on this proposal, the FDA is directly violating a federal court order to stop allowing the use of 38 non-organic ingredients in products labeled " Organic. " These include ingredients like synthetics, untested fish oil, crops grown with pesticides and chemical fertilizers, and factory-farmed animal intestines. The FDA simply refused to respond to the court order. They have also been refusing to talk to the press. Such arrogance! Do they think we won't notice?! They certainly don't care that WE care what we're putting in and on our bodies. We shouldn't let them get away with pretending they can MAKE something organic just by SAYING it is. Please don't make the mistake of thinking you can trust a USDA Organic label. And if this is something that concerns you, please take a look at the above link. jaime,CA
