Guest guest
Hi, my fiance has a sinus like pressure in his head that hasn't budged in a week. We've tried some essential oils, and some herbal teas, none of which were completely effective and looking for some new ideas. He said it's related to the barometric pressure. We live in south Florida, and it's been hot and muggy, with rain lately, if that helps. He doesn't have any other symptoms and is relatively healthy. Thanks in advance! Anna ********** Anna, I know EXACTLY what he means. I can tell days before it storms that it is coming. I get the same pressure and it feels like someone is squeezing your eyeballs and your face will soon implode/explode depending on whether the storms are about to come or about to leave. There are only 2 things that give me relief: 1.) accupressure - not official, just done by me. I'll lean over my hands and push my palms into my cheekbones and hold for about a minute I guess. Then I do the same with my forehead. I give each area pressure a few times. Now, don't be alarmed because the areas will probably get a little tender. Then I apply pressure to the areas again, but this time with a sliding motion toward my nose to help with drainage if any. I then procede with number 2 below. 2.) Hot compresses on my face and I breath in -slowly- the steam from the hot cloth. Be sure to use a clean washcloth and pure water. When my head is very bad like his seems to be, I don't add E.O.'s because for me the sensory overload of adding scent to intense pain can make it worse. Now, if I catch it coming on, then yes I'll add a few rosemary leaves to the steaming water and that really helps me. I will alternate between these 2 until my nose starts to run and/or the headache begins to lessen. Again, I am NOT a doctor, but this is what I do for myself. I hope it helps, Diana Diana's in Hubbard, Ohio http://www.Dianascraft-antiqueshop.4t.com
Guest guest
My doctor told me I should snort mater in through my nostrils and rinse it through thoroughly when I shower each day to clear the sinuses. It doesnt work on me as i get an infection as soon as water goes in the ear but it is meant to be a good help. SOme use rosehip oil warmed and dripped gently into the nasal passages.
