Guest guest
I did get some lessons on rose care some time ago and have had many successful gardens which I did professional for a time. When I plant roses, make sure the hole is deep and plenty of organic compost below the main root level. Sit the main root just above this compost and fill in, leaving the base of the stem bare. Plant Parsley around the bed, a border is good, and then also plenty of garlic which the thrips and aphids hate as they do the parsley. A spray nice a year with malathion is recommended by Yates type gardeners, me that is not so an option. Cut off all yellow leaves with black spots and get rid of the wood, burn it and dont let it touch the other roses or unaffected parts, this is black rot/spot or mould. Cement pots or borders if used should be well cleaned and aged to rid the cement of excess lime which is a death knoll to roses. Hope this helps some.
