Guest guest
Hey Anya .. or any other mad tincture makers here ... Can I tincture strawberry and pineapple flesh in alcohol to get a nice scent? I recall trying it once and I got mold *lol* I just hate to waste the flesh around the removed green strawberry tops and pineapple " rind " . Guest guest
Chris - I don't know about scent, but you could get some great flavor. That could be the beginning of a great tropical martini. Some even use " fruit leather " for tincturing. I'd remove the green from the flesh of the strawberry tops because that'd probably give too green a scent, and dry the flesh bits. Yes, use pineapple rinds, but realize that you'll probably have to change the rinds several times. Most fruits or flowers, or whatever that you tincture for scent may need several changes to inpart the desired scent level to the alcohol. HTH.
