Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I've been a member of this group for quite a while, but admit I am mostly a lurker. I am now hoping for some help from those with holistic health knowledge. My daughter, age 26, is located in Germany with her husband (Army). Before she left the states she was diagnosed with a bi cornuate uterus. She found this out because she was trying to get pregnant and was having irregular periods. She also started developing a lot of hair on her face and chest, and significant weight gain. The Army doctors did blood and urine tests for irregular hormones and thyroid, and all tests came back clear. Since she has arrived in Germany (January 07), she has been to the emergency room 4 times because her husband thought she was bleeding to death (she will go a week where she can't even go out because her flow is so heavy). Her periods last 3-4 weeks. She has now lost 40% of the hair on her head, while continuing to grow it in all the places it shouldn't grow on a woman. She works out every day at the gym or runs, yet she gains 5-7 pounds a month. She eats no junk food, cut out all excess sugar, and cooks from scratch. While as a teenager, she was prone to breakouts, she now has to take two showers a day because she says she is " dripping oil " and her face, chest, and back is suffering severe acne. On top of that, while losing her hair, she also has small sores on her head. All tests were redone in Germany, and they can not figure out what is wrong with her. She is absolutely miserable, and it is beginning to take a toll not only on her self image, but her marriage also. If anyone could help guide us to where she could go for help, it would be immensely appreciated. Conventional medicine is not helping. Thank You for Listening, Linda P
Guest guest
Linda, I'm so sorry for what your daughter is going through -- it sounds miserable. I'll keep her in my thoughts. Have they tested specifically for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS)? That sure seems like a possibility, based on her symptoms. Then again, you'd think the doctors would have immediately tested for that and ruled it out. They haven't found ANY abnormal hormone levels? Is she close to any acupuncturists where she is? Even without a diagnosis, that may be a good avenue for her to try.

Clearly there is a hormonal problem. I don't know if she is still trying to get pregnant, but women with this condition have frequent miscarraiges, accompanied by excess bleeding. She needs to see an endocrinologist for sure, and an OBGYN that will work a bit more agressively to diagnose the problem. I assume they have done ultrasounds and an MRI. I am surprised that no one has suggested surgery. Joanne
Guest guest
Linda, First off the tests that the Dr.s do have a range of " normal " if you fall within that range they tell you, that you are alright. Now, If your daughter is having such horrible periods and stuff such as that. I pray for her. I suggest she go to an endocrinologist or a DO. Or a Compassionate GP cause what it sounds like is they are not looking for subclinical diagnosis of anything. Her normal maybe different than that accepted as normal for the " world " I was subclinical hypothyroid for years. I gained weight when I breathed. My problem was exacerbated by the ssri Effexor. It sounds like she is in super crisis. If I were your daughter I'd go into the Dr.s office and say. Look. There is something severely wrong with me and it's not psychosomatic. Have them test for a pituitary tumor. That can sometimes cause symptoms that look like hypothyroidism. Then she should have them test for PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) That has the other symptoms... Weight gain, hair growth on places she doesn't want. Then have them test for Hyperaldosteronism. That causes hair loss on the head (male pattern baldness, irregular periods, weight gain and hair loss..) Also, it sounds as if she needs some iron replacement just from the amount of bloodloss during her periods. There are other things to test for other than Thyroid that can cause all of these or any combination of these, also ask your family members if anyone suffers from any and all of these symptoms. This may help. If she is adopted, find her parents and ask them. If they aren't alive, petition for their medical records based on her biological tie to them. There is a way to find out what this is... And it may be frustrating to deal with Dr.s who do not want to treat her and truly find out what is wrong, but she has to stay with it. And tell her that I'm lighting a candle for her. Also, you can type the symptoms that you described into one of the medical search engines and see what it comes up with. I'll do some research on my end and see if I can find out anything that might help. Jennifer And this is not intended to diagnose treat any illness. This is just suggestions from a concerned citizen on a woman's health.
Guest guest
Thank You Everyone for your thoughts and concern. She has been tested for PCOS and thyroid, they came back negative. Her OBGYN is having her check her temperature daily to see if she is ovulating or not. I have felt for a while now that it's hormones, but all the tests come back normal. I truly hope I did not offend members on this list with how graphic I was. It was not my intention. It's just that I know there are so many knowledgeable people here, and I feel I am at my wit's end. Guest guest
Hi Linda! Coming out of lurkdom here to say that I'm so sorry to hear about your daughters problem, and I'm sure being an army wife in Germany only makes things more difficult--HOWEVER--she needs to see an endocrinologist ASAP! There are some conditions that can only be diagnosed by a good endocrinologist. She has a lot of symptoms (although not all) of Cushings Disease, which is considered to be a rare disease, but in actuality, Cushings occurs more often than is documented, it's just VERY often misdiagnosed, and symptoms are treated, rather than treating the one central cause of the symptoms--Cushings, which means there is a tumor either in the pituitary gland, or adrenal glands, pumping massive amounts of cortisol thru the body, and cortisol does some serious damage to every system in the body. It's not even that easy to find information about Cushings Disease or Syndrome on the internet, because it is more often diagnosed in dogs and horses, but if you really look, there is some good information out there to get you started in either ruling it out, or getting a correct diagnosis. Pam in Gettysburg, PA, whose sister was cured of Cushings two years ago! , " parkberry " <parkberry wrote: > > Hi Everyone, > I've been a member of this group for quite a while, but admit I am > mostly a lurker. Guest guest
I am also a lurker, but my heart strings were strung on this one. I JUST wrote an article yesterday to a naturopath. There are a few possibilities as far as treatment. What would have to manifest either by accident or on purpose is her system would HAVE to become alkalized and her endocrine system lifted. Now this sounds easy and pat, however... Although it is true that an acidic body is a sick body and a balance MUST be acheived in order to ever have good health PERIOD, the reason for almost ALL illness is the endocrine system. You can have hormone levels show up normal because they are there, but are not actually being converted. i.e. T4 to T3 for thyroid (ADD, ADHD and ect., or DSEA being converted to estrogen, progesterone, androgen ect.) The vaccines she recieved going over to Germany did her no earthly good either. Of which she had no choice. But she must clean those out of herself now. Talk about getting back to the basics here. I am a HUGE advocate of eating clay and drinking clay water, and could give you several PhD's and Masters degrees why. Yes, eat what you were made from! Perfectly balanced with 70 minerals in the exact dose we need them, how convenient huh? Russia used french green clay when Cherinobyle melted down mixed in chocolate bars for their people. This is why only 100 thousand people got thyroid cancer with the complete nuclear plant melt down. They also fed it to their animals. Here it is used for horses and cows as it prevents scours and colic. NASA used red dessert clay from Death Valley for their astronauts to CURE and prevent osteoperosis. I will give you a site to pass on and a little place to price out clay books on how to properly use it. One of my favorite facts about clay is in a hospital study they used clay water to wipe down one of 4 walls. That wall stayed STERILE (not JUST cleaner) 3 days longer than any of the other three. I have done a mini study on the uses of clay, roughly 800 hours. Soap and soaking are awsome but by far not the only method of clay use. In fact clay will draw out any venum, snake or otherwise. I use in on bites and stinks all the time. Animals lay in it for this very purpose and have for centuries. She needs this clay, there are several places to buy online, but in Germany she should not find it difficult to find any of the helpful bentonites. Sop up those toxins. http://www.eytonsearth.org/purchase-buy-healing- clay.php<http://www.eytonsearth.org/purchase-buy-healing-clay.php> They even discuss the IMPORTANCE of using clay during pregnancy. Wilderness family coconut oil for the endocrine. No other oils but olive should be used to cook with. google this oil. Then google for cheapest prices. The food grade type mountainroseherbs.com sells at 20.00 a gallon plus shipping tastes like coconuts. They have one that does not. Let her know how important this particular item is! http://www.wildernessfamilynaturals.com/virgin_coconut_oil_centrifuged ..htm *****Towards the bottom of that page in the left hand column there are raw glandualrs listed of which she can use AFTER the homeopathic pellets. Don't stop reading there, google, google and more googling on coconut oil! Make sure to stress the importance of this food. I was so shocked when I went to my homeopathic vet two months ago and he recommended it for my animals, which I already used for them! It is anti fungal, anti viral, anti bacterial and helps the thyroid, heart and on and on. It lowers cholesterole so do not be fooled by the fact that it looks like lard. You get NRG from it immediately 100 percent pure protien the body DOES NOT recognize it as fat. She needs to look into liver/gall bladder flush, and make sure to squeeze/flush her LIVE-r a few times like you would a dirty sponge. This will bring the relief her stressed liver needs since it has tryied to pick up the slack for every other gland that is not working at the moment. It will also kick start the pituitary gland the MASTER gland of the endocrine system. The liver and the pituitary work hand in hand. http://www.curezone.com/cleanse/liver/default.asp several flushes to choose from, some better than others. I recommend At the same time look into this company for homeopathy. http://www.elixirs.com/prodSearch.cfm? ProductName= & ProductCategory=Glandular+Support Contact these people for help in using the product properly. I got astounding results very quickly. Tell her to use the first aid method first and then maintance. Use lower dose to stimulate for a few weeks then a higher to support. When she is supporting with homeopathy then she can use food, herbs and vitamins that also lift the endocrine system. Like avacado, gotu kula, ashagadwa, aspargilus, goji berries... The homeopathic multiple glandular is best, shouldn't do one gland at a time, along with the DSEA. These are not hormones, they are ENERGEY from. Later she can work one gland at a time. Medico tests are hardly ever accurate for hormones or thyroid. Hair loss is thyroid/adrenal. Irregualr periods thyroid. I could go on and on with every illness out there but you can see where this is going. The edocrine and the nervous system run and rule the body. They work together when the body IS NOT acidic. The liver picks up the slack, even for sugar troubles the precious LIVE-r tries.Edocrine disrupters are... Chlorine, breathing shower mist, pools, bathing, paper plates, bleaching laundry actually soaks through your skin. Use food grade peroxide instead. Filter out chlorine ANY way you can including and ESPECIALLY the shower. Germany does not use chlorine, no country is stupid enough to except this one. Pesticides. Plastics are a huge disrupter and we even get this in our water and meat when " they " drink the water. google endocrine disrupters..... http://www.nrdc.org/health/effects/qendoc.asp Sources of hormone are tap water (urine recycled from sewage plants of women taking hormones and butchers flushing animal (cow, pigs ect) blood and ect down the drain, dumping into lakes and rivers. We can not effectively remove hormones from water, so it is the next big gov't chore. In the meantime buy a glass distiller. Lots of hormones also in white flour, meat, eggs, milk. She will have to again google " avoiding hormones " for example for a better more refined list. Google a nice acid/alkaline balancing chart like this one. http://www.chimachine4u.com/AA.html Bottom line is to BALANCE alkalinity. Hard but wayyy possible and way worth it. To see arthritic pain leave forever is HUGE. Grains are terribly acidic and not healthy to eat for any human or animal unless sprouted first. Here is a good meat source for those of us state side. eatwild.com Any and all animal protein is acidic EXCEPT raw organic eggs and raw goats milk, these are alkaline. Raw Goats cheese here we come! Nuts are acidic unless sprouted which is why sprouted almond milk is so common. Rice milk, soy milk and ect are all acidic. Have to cut corners and alkalize when and where you can to leave room for meat on that balanced dinner plate. There is one site out there was called Summers that sells sprouted flours. Health food stores sell sprouted noodles and breads already if you can afford to buy these things. Here you go!!! http://www.creatingheaven.net/chmenu.html I know you want to help her. I do too any way I can and I do not even know her. But in the years I have learned sometimes people just want what appears to be the quick fix as each disease comes up for them for the lack of getting to the root. Sometimes too people just like treating symptom as hard as that is to hear. There is so much that she can do to help undo the damage she has done to herself. But in order for her to do that she will have to take responsibility and " invest " in herself, for herself. Research, money, time...we can not do it for them any more than we can an alcoholic. Sometimes people just do not want to invest, or will only invest until it gets slightly better, or will only do things if " others " invest for them, and sadly they tell us they want to get better because it is what " we " want to hear. We must remember, that is THEIR choice and we all have one, but for her there is hope and help if she wants it. bt' biblethumper The energy is what is needed because we can not assimilate vitamins properly in our current conditions. This is why an herb works for one and not another. , " parkberry " <parkberry wrote: > > Hi Everyone, > I've been a member of this group for quite a while, but admit I am > mostly a lurker. Guest guest
Linda, Two things will slow the flow VERY quickly. Coconut oil and lemon, fresh squeezed. I have had to give it straight before. This is just a quick fix. Quick fixes are not good because they are easier to do than changing the real problems, but in this case! If she can handle eating the oil off the spoon which I believe they call dobblers, that's great. For some CO can cause gas, although not griping, and for some it can cause diarrhea. 4 Tablespoons of coconut oil is recommended a day. Our hearts and bodies need absolutley 2 tablespoons of medium or long chain fatty acids a day (fat free is killing us). So tell her to start with 2 and work up to 4. Some (like my neighbor) uses much more a day than that, but they have bigger heart issues and need more. It WILL slow bleeding fast and gets right on lifting the thyroid. It will even make those who run cold (thyroid) warm. ;-D Simply awsome stuff. The health beni's are too long to list. I am going to find out how to make a liquid soap out of it for my dogs and us. bt' I freed thousands of slaves. I could have freed thousands more, if they had known they were slaves. Guest guest
I can't help but think that their could be something wrong with the glands themselves. Has anyone took any type of picture of them or done anything to look at those glands. The hypothelmus is the control center for the pituitary gland and is our link between the endocrine system and the nervous system which tells the other glands what the body needs. I am curious to know if there is a malfunction in the glands themselves. Maybe one is too small or is damage someone. I would also tell her to find civilian doctors because some military docs aren't all that great. Has she tried any type of Lymph massage or any alternative ways to stop this. What is she eating exactly? Did this start here in the USA or did it start elsewhere? Was she exposed to something we don't know about? ______________________________\ ____ Choose the right car based on your needs. Guest guest
I'm at a loss medically and as someone mentioned, you might want to venture away from the military doctors because they can be pretty lame. Also, I want to strongly suggest that she find a Reiki practitioner and that IN ADDITION to whatevery they find medically that will help her, but since they don't know at the moment, it wouldn't hurt to get some Reiki treatments twice a week to help balance her out. It sounds hormonal and any herbal or homeopathic treatments that would help to bring her hormones back into balance will help also. Send her healing vibes. No you were not too graphic, you were just telling us the information you had because you have no real diagnosis or treatments yet and you are at your wits end and you are asking for help. Basically all you were doing was giving people the information they would be asking for. Blessings, Carol
Guest guest
Gosh Linda that sounds absolutely horrible. Has she only seen the military doctors? I am an ex military wife and never liked the military doctors they didnt seem as knowledgeable. Has she been checked for endometriosis and polyps, has she had ultrasounds done? Has she considered having (i dont know the proper name) her uterus cauterized partially to decrease the flow? It is a new type of treatment for women with excessive periods but I dont know how it affects having children. Has she been referred to a specialist? Has she had allergy tests done? Has she detoxified her liver, kidneys etc? Just trying to think of all the possibilities i can. She will be in my prayers.
