Guest guest
I tried a body sugar recipe from the net, and ended up taking little hunks of skin away with the hair :-( Has anyone made their own hair removal wax? Just a yes or no.... not fishing for recipes or such, just wondering if you do make it, if you are able to use any special eo's to make it really special, and how to determine melting point, which you would need to know so you wouldn't make a concoction that would burn you if you just got it to melting point. Guest guest
Shelley, I have made some, (tastes mighty good too) The first time I used it i heated it for the recommended time and then didn't wait for it to cool before applying it (top lip=yeouch) then I cut the time in 1/2 and that works much better. other than that I've never added essential oils as (well then I'd have to cut back on the water amount) that and sometimes I just get plain ol' lazy and don't want to mess with it. In order to just get it to the melting point you'd have to do some research of the ingredients that go in to it, because the melting point for one does not = another. Also you can use a candy making thermometer to determine the temperature of the actual wax before you put it on your skin. (I have burned myself many times with all kinda waxes and stuff to remove facial and body hair.) You may be able to make some that's sticky enough with out having to heat it. (that way only the sticky part of it will remove the hair, and not the temperature removing the skin) haud desiderium sieze dies Orbis terrarum est meus oyster vos mos non subsisto mihi EGO sum a comic indoles Jennifer Janek-Markey Soapywench _____ On Behalf Of Shelley Wednesday, August 08, 2007 1:32 AM Oils_herbs_etc hair removal... waxing question I tried a body sugar recipe from the net, and ended up taking little hunks of skin away with the hair :-( Has anyone made their own hair removal wax?
