Reed Diffusers?

Sorry to those of you who might get a cross post.

I've been asked by a very good client if I made reed diffusers. Told him

" not yet " , but I've been thinking about if for a while.

1. What base do most of you use? I've heard DPG and heard

Cyclomethicone. What do those of you who make it use? Or do you buy it

already made and scented, and if so where? If you buy the base and

scent.what is the ratio?

2. Can you use essential oils for scent? Or do you HAVE to use FO's?

If you can't use EO's, why not?

3. Do you buy those reed diffuser bottles? If so, where is the best

price? Or do you just use small mouthed pretty bottles?

4. Where do you buy the reeds? Is it rattan? Or another reed?

Sorry about all the questions, but did a search and can't find the

information, only companies that already sell, and want me to buy at a

higher price than I think I can make it myself.

TIA

Hugs to all~

I don't make them yet either and I'm not sure I will. I know DPG is

better and less expensive than Cyclomethicone. I've been seeing

them in all the stores and my take of things they wind up sitting

there, not like flying off the shelves type of thing. One beauty

supply store I saw had a HUGE like tall 64 oz bottle with large

reeds going for $40.00, that was a bit over the top for me. I've

used them, but there are better things to use for scents. There's

an attorney at my office who has these soy candles, but instead of

burning them, you put them in a warmer and the wax melts and sends

out the scent, he had everyone hungry yesterday with his " pound

cake " scent.

I think you can use EO, but I would have a better time and more cost

effective by just putting EO drops in my diffuser. FO would be

better.

Not sure if you can or can't, haven't tried. Just my opinion.

You can get the DPG and FO from www.wellingtonfragrance.com

I think that's their website. They have the bottles too. Also

suburstbottle.com has pretty bottles for those as well.

Happy hunting,

I've used both. I don't think there is that much difference. I do

about 20% fragrance
