Guest guest
Try orange oil, lemon grass oil or eucalyptus oil, ptc ---- buffywonder1 3/09/2007 6:46:05 AM OT - Glue removal Hi everyone, Well, I pulled a good one a couple of days ago and still haven't found a way out of this sticky mess. I have been sorting through stuff and rearranging a storage area. In so doing I managed to set a toilet riser leg smack in the middle of a fresh, just out of the box, mouse glue trap. Yes, you read that right. Now I have soaked, and dug, soaked more (in alcohol) and I can't remove all the glue. What I can remove from the bottom of the chair leg ends up on my hands. I've laughed till my sides hurt but that isn't working either. What solvent(s) would take this stuff off???? I just know someone on this wonderful list will come to my rescue. I will be forever greatful. Hugs, Buffy The information contained in these e-mails is not a substitute for diagnosis and treatment by a qualified, licensed professional. Guest guest
Have you tried heating the glue with hot, boiling water and wiping it off. How about finger nail polish remover or paint thinner? buffywonder1 <buffywonder Sunday, September 2, 2007 2:43:34 PM OT - Glue removal Hi everyone, Well, I pulled a good one a couple of days ago and still haven't found a way out of this sticky mess. Guest guest
I know there's a product called Goof Off, which my husband - who is a remodeler - uses for all kinds of stuff like this. Guest guest
I use goof off to get crayon markings off the wall. I have to use the magic eraser with it or it stays. Guest guest
Thanks gcw, ptc & Linda, I tried the nail polish remover last night, will check on that in a short. After reading the other suggestions, I remembered that I had a product called Oops!which states it removes glue, although it has a lot of warnings on it. I think I will save that one as a last resort. Thanks again everyone, I think I'm armed now to get that stuff off. This list is so gracious and helpful.
