Guest guest
Hey Kathleen, > MESSING WITH MY MIND?!!! But Butch, > > That's SO EASY! ROFLMAO! > Don't know about that .. but its sorta fun. ;-) Next time you are out on one of your morning walks and thinking about the deeper things in life .. things we don't question but just take for granted that they are normal .. you might wanna ponder this deep question. How come most folks are afraid of snakes but not afraid of dawgs? I can't fault you on the Hydrophobia thingee... got a dog here that is, > will > walk around shadows on the pavement that USED to be wet. Neighbors got a > Golden Retriever that we call " The Freak of Nature " . SHE DOESN'T LIKE > WATER!!! > For sure a Golden Retriever that don't like water is strange .. sho'nuf cuts back on their ability to retrieve - huh? Back when I was watering the grass every day and Alexander was playing with the sprinkler, Scout, my neighbor's Golden Retriever that has adopted us .. came over every day to play in the water. Scout thinks his owner's land and that land on either side is his .. she patrols a couple of times a day. This morning, I had my first (hopefully my last) visit by a Jehovah Witness .. nice feller he was. Told me he had seen the Vietnam Vet tag on my Jeep so he knew I would understand the horrors of war and the need to beat the weapons into ploughshares and such .. but he kept trying to brush by me while I was blocking the door. ;-) Scout happened to come over and started barking and growling and such. The feller musta saw this as a great means of gaining entry cause he asked to come in since he was afraid of the dog. Told him Scout was normally harmless .. wouldn't bite nobody less'n I told her to or she got restless. He then asked me if'n I would walk him to his car and I did .. done my good deed for the day .. saved that feller from getting et up by a dawg that only bites cornbread .. and Gatoraid bottles when Alexander throws them for her to fetch. ;-) Thanks for the list.... the really LONG list! Guest guest
We have neighbours like that. The only part of their property not maintained to sterile but allowed to grow over and is where all the junk ends up is right along the fence line of our little cottage. This morning I noticed that the outline of the house in the rising sun fitted perfectly in the shape left unkempt. WEIRD. I did see a Coven doing some stuff there just after we moved in, burying something ! cheers. Seriously, that's a good question. I have never been harmed by a snake, and with all my outdoor time and hiking, I have never even seen one in California. Now, I know for a fact that rattlesnakes are everywhere around here, so that just shows how badly they do NOT want to meet us. Dogs, on the other hand - though I love 'em - can be a real pain in the patou. Guest guest
I could quote scripture here that specifies man's dislike of snakes and all, but I think I can make the best case for the dogs, since everyone can look up the other in Genesis. I raised dogs, bred them, live with four, have had as many as 17 (2 litters of pups) all in the house at the same time. We arranged our home to accomodate a life with dogs. A dog adores you. You come in the door, he's thrilled to see you. You walk out to get the paper, 15 seconds, and he greets you just as if you'd been gone forever. I think dogs are the only unconditional love that money can buy. My dogs know when I'm sad, when I'm sick, and are fiercely protective. I cannot imagine living without them. And I don't want to. Snakes...not so much. lol Jen - " David Lambert " <dlmbrt Wednesday, September 12, 2007 8:10 PM RE: Favorite Oils and a Few Other of My Favorite Things ;-) >> > you might wanna ponder this deep question. Guest guest
Well, when a big ole chicken snake just tried to eat my little 5lb dog, I'm watching out for that sucker! Especially after spending about $300 in the emergency room for the snake bite that was an inch wide! Big snake!! We just found the skin of it the other day underneath my soap shack! I'm 4'11 " and the skin is slightly taller than me and about 2 " diameter! Big snake!! Did I say that already? I'm not much scared of snakes, but I will shoot this sucker!! I don't need it trying to eat my dogs or chickens! LOL!!
