Hey Jen,

Yep .. the Snake took the rap for Eve in the Garden of Eden. Once he was

branded as a Demon or one who consorted with Demons he was in deep kimchi.

;-) But there are other many irrational reasons why most folks fear

snakes but not dogs. One of those reasons is what drove many who wrote

various Biblical, Koranic and other religious texts to use the snake to

represent evil. Lots of verses in the Bible hit on snakes .. like ..

turning rods (or staffs) into serpents .. using the term venom as a symbol

of deceit .. Paul being bitten by a serpent .. treading on serpents ..

the taking up of serpents .. and in Isaiah it goes into prophecy saying that

... " *** And the sucking child shall play on the hole of the asp. " Isaiah

and a dozen other books of the Bible talk negatively about snakes and

dragons .. course, we know that there were no dragons then but they get a

bad rap anyway and for pretty much the same reasons that snakes did.

Nobody ever got caste into a pit of dogs . it was always a pit of serpents.

;-)

The Koran speaks of some snakes being Djinn .. which is where the English

word " Genie " came from. But they give snakes a little better rap cause

while some Djinn are Infidels .. others are Believers. ;-)

Good it is .. my last kennel in Georgia often had two Brittney litters on

the ground at a time.

A dog adores you. You come in the door, he's thrilled to see you. You walk

Right .. that's why we love and don't fear our OWN dogs.

I think dogs are the only unconditional love that money can buy. My dogs

> know when I'm sad, when I'm sick, and are fiercely protective. I cannot

> imagine living without them. And I don't want to.

Yep. I believe its easier to like most dogs than it is most people .. but I

am not one who fears snakes so that doesn't apply here. ;-)

Snakes...not so much.

Like I said .. snakes usually get a bum rap. ;-)
