Guest guest
This is a very fascinating topic to me. David you made excellent points and I agree with pretty much everything you said. Just a few thoughts that came to me.. With using tools that can “neutralize” the energies/thoughts in our head, are we really dealing with the issues that lie underneath? Or are we just pushing them aside? Or do they really rewire our brain? Do they sensitise us to the negativity or just make us slower to react? Its not like it makes us forget, right? Negative thoughts definitely are a warning, they are a guide post to “Hey warning sign here, pay attention to me!” But as humans we can also have the tendency to overfocus on negative and not enough on the positive. For me, I keep the idea open that a tool like this may help but I’d want to see data on it first before I’d attempt it. I’d want to see from others the effect it has on them. Guest guest
Hi Jen > > Just a few thoughts that came to me.. > > With using tools that can “neutralize” the > energies/thoughts in our head, > are we really dealing with the issues that lie > underneath? Or are we just > pushing them aside? We are actually modualting them, shaking them to a higher energy perspective, literally. Pain, stress consititutes ultimately ENERGY LOSS, and some stress are good but they still deplete energy the trade off one hopes is that positive stress causes long term gain which it can and does, these frequencies, the SSF's, are intelligently directed BODY MIND signals that induce energy into stressed areas thereby cancel negative effects of the stresses BUT optimizing the likelihood of positive outcomes for positive stresses.... > > Or do they really rewire our brain? Do they > sensitise us to the negativity > or just make us slower to react? Its not like it > makes us forget, right? No, it does not make you forget, it ONLY empowers your inherent natural coping abilities by directly feeding them more positive energy, it offsets the energy loss so you dont get overwhelmed > Negative thoughts definitely are a warning, they are > a guide post to “Hey > warning sign here, pay attention to me!” yes > But as humans we can also have the tendency to > overfocus on negative and not > enough on the positive. the focusing you mention is exactly in line with what Im talking about > For me, I keep the idea open that a tool like this > may help but I’d want to > see data on it first before I’d attempt it. Guest guest
> With using tools that can “neutralize” the energies/thoughts > in our head, are we really dealing with the issues that lie > underneath? Or are we just pushing them aside? [Dave]: Jen, you raise some excellent questions. I'm guessing some who are expert in aromatherapy and related arts will have some input on this, too. Hmmm, as far as " neutralizing " negative thoughts, I think the best way I can answer you is with an example. I like my coworkers, but none of us likes our employer. It's easy to walk around with thoughts in your brain about work, none of them pleasant except the imaginary conversations in which you make your boss look a fool in front of everyone. I struggled with that kind of negative thinking for a long time, whether about work, my ex-wife, that damn judge, whatever. The solution, when I found it, was so simple I was absolutely staggered I'd never seen it before. The solution is to carry a positive thought around in your pocket. Not literally, or course, although it couldn't hurt to give it material reinforcement. What I mean is this: when you are happy and hopeful, think of something you wish for, something you'd like to do or have or be. I'm talking about something realistic, something meaningful to you. What about that shop you always envisioned yourself owning? Or the music you imagine yourself writing? Whatever it is, don't write the music, just see yourself writing music. Believe you can do it - it's within you. Hold that thought! That's what you put in your pocket. I think about the house I want to build. When I catch myself getting negative, I ask myself again how I am going to arrange the plumbing stacks or the wiring bundles within the walls, or how I'm going to sculpt the exposed walls instead of going for right angles, or what kind of landscaping I want. Works every time. It's just a matter of replacing the negative thought with a constructive, positive one. I think the key is to have a topic ready, instead of casting about telling yourself Think of something positive! Think of something positive! I go to the house. Once there, and the negative thoughts are cast out, then it's easy to move on to something else positive. Does it work? Well, yes. It becomes easier and easier to think positively, creatively and affirmatively as opposed to negatively or in a way that alienates yourself from others. It becomes a habit. And when there's a time for dealing with the difficult issues we all face, it's so much easier to keep an objective view. And you can tell it's working by the way people relate to you. Do they smile and know your name? Do they seek you out? Do they go out of their way just to have a short conversation with you? This is what's happened to me at home and at work, to the extent that I have to excuse myself constantly so that I can get my work finished. Is it all sweetness? Nope. You still have to deal with life. You just see it differently, and so you find yourself dealing with it more successfully because your thoughts and actions are positive. Think: I know my problem has a solution. I have absolute faith that it will manifest when I'm ready to accept it. If I'm too overwhelmed to deal with it right now, then I will visit it later. That's not running from the issue. That's adjusting my outlook so that I can deal with the issue positively. If I need to wait, so be it. > Or do they really rewire our brain? Do they sensitise us to > the negativity or just make us slower to react? Its not like > it makes us forget, right? [Dave]: I think it must create new neural pathways. Isn't that what a habit is? Once you get in the habit of thinking in a positive manner, people respond to you positively and you begin to expect them to. It becomes self-supporting. No, you don't forget. Positive thinking doesn't mean seeing the world as a flower garden. It means seeing the opportunity as well as the obstacle, and it means being solution-oriented instead of problem-oriented. > Negative thoughts definitely are a warning... [Dave]: What do you define as a negative thought? If I think, " That guy behind me may be about to mug me, " it's only a negative thought if, in fact, the guy has no such intention. If on the other hand, the guy really is about to mug me, I may have a chance to escape or defend myself. It's also possible that the guy was just thinking about mugging me and I somehow sensed this, and that my body language or other outward manifestation prevented the confrontation altogether. This would be a positive thing. Negative thoughts are destructive thoughts. Thoughts which do not ennoble but somehow debase us. Thoughts which prevent us from achieving what we know is within us. The first task is to recognize them and to understand that we are the source and that we can change them. My father was abusive, but that's not the source of any negativity. The only source of negativity can be my own habit of thinking about it instead of something positive. The past I cannot change. The future I absolutely can. Yes, they are a warning. That our habits need serious examination. Worry is negative and fruitless. On the other hand some problems require lengthy thought and many possibilities must be planned for. In this case, a process of many months of gnawing at a dilemma or problem may be a positive thing which produces splendid results. The difference is in one's habits of thinking and doing. > For me, I keep the idea open that a tool like this may help > but I’d want to see data on it first before I’d attempt it. > I’d want to see from others the effect it has on them. [Dave]: I listened to the Intuition & Timing music today in the car, total around 45 minutes. At times there were brief spells when I found the sounds a little disturbing. Mostly though I found it euphonious and very relaxing. In fact, I especially noticed for much of the day a feeling of calm and extreme focus. I'm normally calm and focused, so what I mean is that I think I was extraordinarily so. Tomorrow I'll be spending a couple hours in the car, and I'll listen to the same music. I plan to do this for a week or so. Then I'll take a break from it for a while. I'm sure I'll be ready to! Later, I'll try the Deep Joy music if I think the results from the first have been positive. Also, I am now awfully curious to listen to the radio signal from Gliese 581c in this way. The question about that signal is: is it a message or random noise? If it's random noise, what in the universe could sound so musical and lovely? It may be that it is a message that works in the way that this music does: by conditioning specific neural pathways for input where before those pathways were merely latent. Of course, the possibilities for " mind control " and all kinds of Manchurian Candidate scenarios come to mind, as well. I decided to trust that's not what we're dealing with today, but I confess it's one reason I'm not listening to a Gliese loop. If such a thing is possible the perhaps at this time we are being forearmed. I chose the Intuition & Timing plus the Deep Joy music out of all the many options, not because these are areas in which I wish to change but because they are areas in which I have made great progress. I think that if anything should disturb my state I will feel it. I could have chosen a physical-healing issue or one that targets past hurtful emotions, but I didn't find anything that called out to me. And of course, I have no idea at this point if this " music " works in the way indicated or not. If it does, then it seems to me that some real doors will have been opened in several areas. I know I'll be getting excited about it. One thing this makes me want to do is burn the Gliese 581c signal onto a disc and do the same thing. It's actually a lot more musical than this other stuff. Hey. Wouldn't it be wild if this auditory " entraining " works really well, and it turns out that listening to Gliese 581c gives you some kind of knowledge or powers? Time for a sniff of something grounding... ;-) Version: 7.5.488 / Virus Database: 269.13.33/1037 - Release 9/29/2007 1:32 PM
