Hi Colleen, My husband is an oiler - basically that means he changes oil, lubes, and performs light teardown and maintenence on heavy equipment in the field - meaning not in the shop, but at sub zero temps. I work in the State of Alaska's Public Defender Agency as a Law Office Assistant (aka legal secretary), and am trying to get on as a paralegal with the PDA or with any other legal agency with the state, preferably a little closer to home. Our huskies are just pets for us - we don't race, but we could if we wanted to. One of our huskies is mostly Malamute, and can he pull!! I make necklaces, bracelets, ear rings and use mostly fresh water pearls. And like all the other crafts I've learned, I'm self-taught and am fairly new at jewelry making. I make to order, or as the spirit moves me for myself. Email me off list if you are interested. > Once you start.......Calendula is a real nice herb to put in > a soap and very healing(one of the best)it looks so pretty in a > finished soap too.I use a coffee grinder to chop up herbs,it doesnt > scratch the skin then when using the soap.Of course Lavender is > wonderful also. Oh have you got that right! I've been soaping for nearly four years now, with a long stretch in the middle of those four where I only soaped in my dreams, and vicariously through other soapers on my soap groups ;-D. That hiatus was very productive in so far as learning and absorbing knowledge, wisdom and experience of others. By the time I picked up the oils and lye again, I was so much more focused and had a much more profound understanding of what I was doing and why. And in short order, the addiction is already beginning to overrun my large kitchen table. Funny that you should mention Calendula - I just bought a large tea bag of dried Calendula. It looks so pretty, I almost hate to grind it up. Do you grind it real fine, or more of a mince? I have a small food processor or can use a mortar and pestle. I have used Lavender EO, but never the buds. I actually don't care for the lavender scent (call me odd) - I prefer citrus and more earty scents - but have considered doing a lavender bud infusion or grinding the buds to include in the soap. Haven't gotten that far yet, lol. Anyway, I think I've gone on long enough, mostly OT, so I'll just thank you for your warm welcome and be quiet for while :-). Blessings & bubbles, Robin
