Prayers for List Member Effie Humberg, Very Ill

Hi y'all,

 

Many folks on this list know Smilin' Effie .. a sweeter and tougher lady is

hard to find. I think it was something like 3 years or so ago that the

doctors told Effie to go home cause they could do nothing for her .. I can't

recall the exact date because I lost all my old files when I left Turkey.

But I do remember that Effie went home and started to do something for

herself. She told us here on the list what was going down and said she was

continuing to buy green bananas. Off list, she asked a number of folks for

leads on credible herbalists and she got some good leads .. she was self

medicating because they had given her little hope. She did take the

medications they gave her but she also looked out for herself .. with herbs

and 2 essential oils.

 

In addition to taking responsibility for her own complementary treatment

Effie maintained an incredibly positive attitude .. always Smilin' Effie

when she posted to the list.

 

Chris and I were told that just prior to becoming hospitalized she had been

mowing her lawn and living as normal a life as she could .. years after they

told her to go home and wait. Like all of the other folks here who are

privileged to know Effie .. I too will keep her in my prayers. But I

believe that with her strength, positive attitude and refusal to let go ..

Smilin' Effie is a prime candidate for kicking death right in the face. I

certainly would like to see Effie come back on list and tell us about those

green bananas again. :-) Butch
