Guest guest
Howdy Pam, > I notice that on YL website they say that their oregano is Oregano > (Origanum compactum) > Origanum compactum http://www.pfaf.org/database/plants.php?Origanum+compactum Look at the other Origanums .. http://www.pfaf.org/database/latin.php?LAT=O The chemo-type of Young Living's Oregano is Carvacrol. > They speak with forked tongue .. or great ignorance. Origanums have no Chemotypes .. they have Varieties .. and Carvacrol is simply a chemical common to all Origanums except the Linalool Variety .. and it too has Carvacrol but in a lesser percentage than the Linalool. Carvacrol is a Big Bad Butt Kicker. I know that you know that there is nothing special about anything YL sells ... except the exorbitant prices and the marketing hype that attempts to justify those prices. Oregano has an approximate ORAC of 153,007 (TE/L). TE/L is > expressed as micromole Trolox equivalent per liter. - what the heck > does that mean? > More Young Living Bovine Excrement. ORAC means Oxygen Radical Absorbency Capacity .. its a value scale they use for various foods and supplements to classify antioxidant content or capability .. but its normally expressed in a Per Serving fashion .. not in a total capacity of one liter or one pound or whatever. A rating of 153,007 for a liter is just fancy marketing. If you eat 1/2 cup of (cooked) Dried Red Beans the ORAC (antioxidant capacity) is 13,727. A cup of Blueberries its 9,019. A 1/2 cup of Prunes is 7,291. One ounce of Pecans is 5.095. One Each Plum is 5,844. In this particular case ORAC is being used by Young Living as marketing hype ... Carvacrol is Carvacrol is Carvacrol .. if I assign a fancy number to an Essential Oil it becomes no more or less effective .. or valuable .. and lack of Bang for the Buck is what one gets with Young Living and all other MLM companies. We already know that ALL Carvacrol rich Origanums are powerful medicine .. folks have known this for thousands of years .. its not something MR. Gary Young picked up from some fictitious Indian Chief. ;-) > thanks :-) > Welcome you are fer'shur. > Pam > Y'all have a good one .. and keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com <http://www.av-at.com/> > <%40>, > " Butch Owen " <butchowen > wrote: > > > > What its all about is killing bacteria .. and in the case of > viruses .. > > assisting the immune system to become strong enough to force them > to stop > > replicating .. to go back into their hidey hole. > > > > I'm not surprised that Christina is getting good results with > Origanum > > vulgare .. but contrary to the faddish ads on many links now, its > not the > > only effective Origanum.
