That sometimes drives out aromatic molecules, but not always. Beware of the hot glass afterwards! > > hello > > i try to recycle everything > when creating my own essential oil scent i use glass jars then let > stand for several days, if i like the scent i place the oils in > sellable containers ---- the QUESTION ---- > > i want to reuse my glass bottles !! FIRST 90% rubbing alcohol (a bit harder to find than the normal 70%, but it seems to make a difference...if you can't find it, go with the 70%) let stand with the rubbing alcohol for a bit... then drain the alcohol and wash in HOT soapy water..or the dishwasher... the initial alcohol rinse dissolves the EO's. don't ever make the mistake of putting something that you've blended oils in in the dishwasher without the alcohol rinse first... the whole load of dishes comes out smelling like rose...or jasmine...or vetiver... etc. not what I want in my breakfast cereal!
