Guest guest
Hello everyone, THANK YOU so much for replying to my inquiry. I do live in Texas, and of course I pay sales tax to TX. I have been taking the tax out of my profit, meaning that when we do a show, I do not charge the extra tax % to my customers. My engineer husband formulated an Excel spread sheet for me to use that calculates the sales tax based on my sales and then I subtract that % and pay it. Sales generated from my website are automatically calculated by my shopping cart and added to my customer's order. For shows, though, I did not want to deal with the coin change. I will take all of your advice. I will contact the State of TX Comptroller's office and make sure that I am doing everything by the book. I didn't think it mattered to TX which way I did it as long as they got ALL the money that they have coming to them. Just and FYI, the reason I was asking about this is because I am trying to decide if we went to use a cash register or not. It looks like I will be buying one. ;o) THANK you again. You guys are AWESOME!! Blessings, Ro
Guest guest
I also am in Texas and I pay annually. My bank (Compass) set me up a seperate sales tax account to assist in keeping track of it. Best Regards, Julie
