Autumn Potpourri gatherin's

Fall finally hit my part of Pennsylvania yesterday, so it looks like a good

day to hit the woods and find some pods and cones and " stuff " .

When my daughter attended a Waldorf nursery school, we started keeping a

nature corner that reflects the season. It has sort of evolved over the years,

but this is my favorite season (except when we're just starting into spring,

summer, or winter).

I'll look for all kinds of different looking things, including bark, fallen

leaves, shrooms, pods, seeds, and pinecones (tip - leave the insect galls out

there). Mixed with some dried petals and leaves from the garden, and some oil

mixed with orris root, they make a nice bowl of potpourri.

It's harvest time out there in the herb garden - still just a little

lavender, and a boatload of sage.

Hi Tina,

I understand your Autumnal itch as down this way we've had now two

mornings of nice cool weather and low humidity! This is the first time

its hit 60 for a low since April!!! I hear by the end of the weekend

summer will be back again, but I can enjoy that first kiss of Autumn

while it lasts! :)

Have fun setting up your seasonal display and making that lovely

potpourri!

*Smile*

Chris (list mom - who looks forward to seeing the leaves change ..

towards the end of December *lol*)
