I have NEVER recommended folks take an EO internally .. ingestion of EO is not the best way to deal with problems in any case. Ingestion of doctor prescribed medications might be a solution for toenail fungus but then there might be a need for periodic follow up to ensure no liver damage, etc. Same for cholesterol medications, etc. The portion at the bottom of this post where I wrote .. " There is no question that the best (and guaranteed) effect is from internal treatment " .. was referring to the rate of success of medications doctor's prescribe for this when compared to topical treatment alone . but its cheap enough to try Origanum first. I should have been more clear in my writing. ;-) And .. I don't really think ingestion would be effective for toenail fungus. Those who I know have had good results (all have not) used it at around a 5% dilution .. they applied it morning and night to the nail only ... not to the surrounding tissue .. they used a Q-Tip. And, if we decide to apply it topically, what dilution ratio would you > recommend? > I recommend you DO use it topically .. if you are going to use it. Guest guest
Many years ago my grandfather was prescribed, by his allopathic M.D., oregano oil capsules for some reason (can't recall what it was) but I remember him going on and on about how as a " side effect " it got rid of his decades old toe nail fungus ... Nature's Way Brand (which has been around forever) is a 2:1 Oregano Oil to Flaxseed Oil ratio. If I were dealing with any kind of foot fungus issues, I'd be soaking my feet in a decoction containing Taheebo (Pau D'Arco) herb. As I've mentioned here before, my wonderful herbal teacher Arcus Flynn (whom at least one other list member also had the pleasure of learning from), always said " if taheebo doesn't kill it, its not a fungus " . *Smile* Chris (list mom - VERY tired after a LONG weekend) http://www.alittleolfactory.com
