Guest guest
Howdy Zo, > I do love to read your " rants & raves " . You say so well what > drives me up the wall. Thankee ma'am .. I reckon that in a few minutes I'm gonna lay low on list for a while. Feller dumped 20 tons of top soil on my back lot; 4 piles of 5 tons each. It really is not a lotta soil but its enough that I learned quickly that a shovel and a 10 cubic foot trailer was not the way to move it around .. so I'm gonna go rent a small Kabota Tractor with front loader and box blade on the rear so I can do job without killing myself. ;-) > If you go to one Dr, you have to have x-rays but goodness if you > have to go to another one he has to take his own and on and on it > goes. I had X-Rays around 2 years ago .. Chiropractor in Clarksville, TN .. we were traveling around the USA then. He charged but would not give them to me. But he fixed my Sciatic problem well so I did not argue. It bothered me a bit because I knew I would not be going back to him .. so I wanted to keep what I had paid for. > Absolutely a rip off. It pleases me that you can get your way....more power > to you. A rip off it is for sure .. and thanks. But I am not sure I will be able to get my way .. just sure that I will make life difficult for some of them if I don't. After spreading this soil I gotta till up my garden for next Spring. Bought a rear tine tiller and have started doing it already. We have a lotta clay and this ground has probably never been tilled so it is not easy and I am even now feeling like my Sciatic problems are coming back .. so I might get to see if the local Chiropractor tries to pull the same thing on the X- Rays. If that is the case I might say nothing because if necessary, I will use the same Chiropractor again some day. ;-) > Zo Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch .. http://www.AV-AT.com
Guest guest
Hey Butch, That sounds like fun to me. I want to come down there and move that dirt around. Tell you what, I'll bring the beer if you let me drive that little tractor...lol John , " Butch Owen " <butchowen wrote: > > Howdy Zo, > > > I do love to read your " rants & raves " . Guest guest
Those are your records and you should have at the very least a copy of them. Jennifer Doctors like to think that it is their information. It is not. It is your information. If you request it. You should be given it. I don't know too much about the law that governs that, but I do know a heck of a lot about HIPAA.
Guest guest
Hey Butch, Haven't forgotten I owe you a private response to our last discourse . . .as you might say, I'm busier than a one-legged man in a kick-ass contest! :-) I've been scanning through this thread and have a quick comment . . . There is a movement afoot to have medical records belong to the patient, not the doctor, which makes sense. You would then be responsible for giving copies to any health professional you see - and you will become more informed and pay better attention to what they contain. The only way to survive the current healthcare climate is to know exactly what is going on with your own self, understand diagnoses, and research any meds prescribed . . . AND share alternative treatments you may want to try prior to just going along with a prescription drug. Don't let the docs rush you out of the interview/appointment - you might be surprised how many docs are becoming more informed about preventative/alternative care, but I have to agree that it's more like a production line than real two-way communication with some of them. As it is now, you CAN demand that doctors forward records to a new doc and if things like x-rays and other tests are within a certain time frame, the new doc should accept and use them. Just squawk about overuse of x-rays and radiation dangers; that'll get them to cooperate. Myriad reasons the system is now broken . . . But I'm optimistic that we can improve for the future with a combination of solutions.
