[Dave]: Update from San Diego County....I first notice the plume of smoke from the Witch Creek Fire about 1:30 yesterday afternoon. It was a large cloud east of the mountains, about 25 miles away. By the time I went to bed around midnight, there was a large orange glow outlining the mountain peaks, but nothing had crested. This morning the first has traveled more than 20 miles. Everything to the east and south is obscured by smoke. We were asked to stay indoors this morning. In the last hour we've been told to be ready to evacuate. I don't really think we are threatened here, but you never know.
