Guest guest
No wonder Patchouli has taken a whopping hike in price. Bet ya the pharmaceuticals have bought tons of it to try to isolate, extract and market the potent constituents....! Little do they understand synergy <sigh> How soon before we see geranium price following? Guest guest
Hi Liz, It wouldn't surprise me one little bit if that was part of the high demand adding to the patchouli shortage! The interesting thing to me is that it is specifically because of the genetic diversity plants have, a diversity which is carried over to every batch of essential oil naturally produced, that these oils can fight the MRSA bug, which are like little Borg (Star Trek reference as far as adapting. Western medicine will try to standardize the chemicals in the EO's and render the standardized end product quickly ineffective (evolutionarily adapted to) as well! At least we know better! I'm still surprised, ESPECIALLY with all the MRSA talk going on now (its been all over the news here for 2 weeks and my son even got a flyer home from school about it!), that this research isn't being picked up and discussed on more mainstream media outlets. All I've heard about it recently is YL talking about how they know the secret blend of 3 the study was conducted on, even though they mention at least one oil that the scientists say is NOT one of the oils used *lol* (that is YL for ya I bet lots of EO combinations can kill these nasty bugs .. it is nice to have the scientific research to back it up though! *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com , Liz <liztams wrote: > > No wonder Patchouli has taken a whopping hike in price.
